How is it that perfectly amazing things become normal?

Terry Pratchett has pointed it out a few times in his books, as have others. 'A filter against being overwhelmed by all the fantastic stuff that would otherwise prevent you from living your life.'

Fabulous things surround us every day, and people choose to ignore them for the sake of their fantasy lives.

Heck, turn on a light and think about all that happens to keep it on. How much stuff had to go right in order for your computer to display this text.

Watch a bug, or an ant colony.

Play with some water.

Listen to your beer (or in my case, cider) fizz and wonder how many double replacement decomposition reactions are occurring to make that happen. Then wonder how you remembered that silly trivia from high school chemistry.

Neat-o stuff.

I've heard it said that the best performers are the ones who can do something incredibly complex and difficult, but make it look as though they didn't do anything at all. If there is a God, he has certainly done a very good job of making it look as though he hasn't done anything.

I guess it comes down to one´s "education".
How many of us are "aware" enough to appreciate all this, the wonders of life&nature?
