Hello all!

I having a bit of a problem that someone here in JREF may be help with.

I installed the latest version of a structural analysis tool on two PCs (one is practically brand new, and the other is only about two years old, and both use the Windows/XP operating system), and yet when the software is launched one gets the following message:

OLE initialization failed. Make sure that the OLE libraries are the correct version.

What is odd is that this same application is used on several other similar PCs, and they have no problem with it.

Now then, I did some checking and sure enough I found some references to this same problem from a few other people and the solutions stated that the way to fix the problem is to update the OLE Libraries. However, I cannot find any instructions or downloads that describe just how one is actually supposed to update these files.

Therefore, does anyone know how to fix this problem and/or update the OLE libraries?

Thanks in advance and please post any questions you may have about this matter.

What is the name of the software?
Have you tried to un-install/re-install the software?

If you answer yes to the second one, then we can try tracing the DLLs that the application is attempting to load and figure out what is going wrong.

Grab this: http://www.dependencywalker.com/depends21_x86.zip (I'm assuming you are running the 32 bit (standard) version of windows).

Run Depends.exe and do File>Open.
Navigate to the .exe and select it.

Hit F7.
Check "Use full paths when logging file names."
Leave everything else the way it is.
Click OK.

Let the program run it's course.

Click File>Save As

Save the image to a file and upload it pls.

Thx.
