Guys, I have uncovered something massive!
Remember our "friend" (or should that be fiend) defaultdotxbe?
Well, get this.
Are you ready?
Take a closer look at his name:
defaultdotxbe
There is no such domain as default.xbe but there is a default.be (http://default.be).
Now, as you all know, the "x" symbol, or cross, is usually used to denote a mistake, meaning we can safely ignore the "x". This leads me to conclude that defaultdotxbe is the owner of default.be.
According to whois.net (http://www.whois.net/whois_new.cgi?d=default.be), the domain was registered on July 10, 2006.
I did some research and I discovered that nothing significant happened on this date. Now, why would defaultdotxbe choose such an inconspicous date to register a domain if it was for totally innocent purposes?
Getting suspicious? YOU SHOULD BE.
The domain is registered to:
First Name: Hostbasket
Last Name: Support
Why would defaultdotxbe use such an obviously false name?
Why indeed.
Take a look at this (http://biwug.be.sharepoint3.hostbasket.com/Lists/Forum/DispForm.aspx?ID=16&Source=http%3A%2F%2Fbiwug%2Ebe%2Esharepoint3%2Ehos tbasket%2Ecom%2FLists%2FForum%2FAllItems%2Easpx) forum post.
Look at the domain: biwug.be.sharepoint3.hostbasket.com
Hostbasket - the same alias used by defaultdotxbe when registering default.be.
Look at the date: 9/11/2005
And the smoking gun?
The subject: Is it possible to alert all my users by default
Obivously meaning someone wanted default (ie: defaultdotxbe) to alert all their users. But the question is: WHY?
WHAT DID HE KNOW? WHAT IS HE HIDING FROM US??????
It's high time a formal investigation was launched into defaultdotxbe. The people of the JREF Forums have the right to some answers.
