View Full Version : 9-11 Denial Just Recycled OKC Denial?

Brainster

Matt Taibbi, whose Rolling Stone article on the 9-11 Deniers apparently caused quite an uproar among the NYC nuts, is back comparing 9-11 woo to OKC woo (http://www.alternet.org/story/43418/?cID=270425). Terrific article!

Over a month after I first wrote a column slamming the 9/11 Truth movement, I continue to get hate mail in massive quantities. A group of Truthers even picketed my office, and I'm still picking food particles out of my scarf after an incident in which the movement's house lunatic, a wild-eyed German blogger named Nico Haupt, tried to goad me into slugging him in a West Side diner.

"Go ahead, heet me, then I haf beeg story!" he roared, scream-spitting half-digested detritus in my face.

Of course I didn't hit him -- nothing in the world is more ridiculous than two writers fighting in a restaurant. If you're surprised that I would call someone who spit food on my lap a fellow writer, don't be. As I subsequently found out, Haupt is a literary juggernaut, one of the most voluble bloggers on the planet earth. His internet entries read like a MySpace mixture of MTV's Real World meets Che's Congo Diaries, only on meth and in a German accent.

Or they just hold many similarities by falling under the general umbrella of "history revisionism". *shrug*

Very FUNNY!

"And what evidence could possibly exist that would be so unwieldy that it would require the destruction of an entire building to be rid of? What, did the CIA carve its 9/11 plans in a 7,000-pound slab of New Hampshire granite in the WTC-7 basement? Were they doodled on the CIA bathroom stalls? Here I sit, broken-hearted. Came to s**t, but only... planned controlled demolition of the World Trade Center! Seriously, what "evidence" had to go? And why wouldn't they just remove it surreptitiously, rather than blowing up a gazillion-dollar building on live international television, leaving the rubble to the mercy of firemen and whoever else was down there?"

It's true! Alex Jones thinks the government did Oklahoma City. Alex thinks the government does everything.

It's always the same story: it was a really obvious hoax. I mean, it's like--really obvious! There are like all these smoking guns!

And yet no one ever knows but the conspiracy guys, because the conspiracy guys are the most brilliant guys on earth.

The whole conspiracy thing is just an ego disorder of white guys.

What I like best about Jones is the way he claims everything is "admitted".

He will say that the government is militarising the police and that it's secret and the government don't want you to know. Then in the next sentence he will say it's admitted.

It's racist and sexist to say it's white guys. The truth movement encompasses every demographic you can think of, except shills or people with OCD.

A list of common usages of English that some people claim are errors:

Language is a set of conventions, not a set of rules.

And, if you're following the conventions, it should be "you're writing", above.

Mine, however is taken out of context, put in a way to make me look stupid. No I did not read ALL of the NIST report, however I have read the parts that were significant to what I was researching, and yes, that includes collapse of the towers. As is my second one, as I did not say they were carrying the same weight. I said that they are designed to balance out the load they are carrying, and since supports were destroyed more weight was transferred.

They are worded and picked out to make it seem like that is how the conversation occured. That is not how I said it and that is not what I meant. So of course I am going to take offense to you changing the context of the quote to fit your "I'm so smart" idea.

Docker, because you fail at reading comprehension:

The structure of the tower was meant so that all columns have the same weight pressed on them.

Is it a possibility that not all the columns were destroyed at the same time? That once each column was unable to handle the weight, the weight was transferred to the other columns and once the weight was too great for the remaining "intact" columns that the tower fell? At that point the tower would most likely fall "symettrically" even though that wasn't the case with the south tower.

Now is that the same as: all columns have the same weight on them
