I almost never post anything in any "CT" areas of forums, as I do not personally believe in any conspiracy theories, or those "truthers."

That said, I stumbled upon this site:

http://www.av1611.org/othpubls/eleven.html
http://www.av1611.org/katrina.html

Now, I knew that many Christians were "out there," but I did not expect it to go this far.

*sigh* Sometimes I wonder if there really are any rational people out there. Darwin must be spinning in his grave.

Or, maybe these religious people are acting this way just to prove Darwin wrong? That must be it, prove that humanity is becoming more stupid, then clearly evolution cannot have happened.

I think I am going to head to bed early, as I have a headache from all of this.

.....

Conspiracy theorists sure like to play with numbers.....I wonder if many of them like to play Sudoku?

If you get as much of a kick out of recreational Christianity as I do (or perhaps, if the first time someone linked you an article from http://www.landoverbaptist.org/ it took you a while to decide whether it was serious or not), you'll definitely get a kick out of browsing around http://www.av1611.org. It's been around quite a while. Easily on par with Revs. Bob Larson and Robert Tilton, and nowhere near as creepy and disturbing as Neal Horsley's "Creator's Rights Party".

ETA: Don't miss http://www.av1611.org/mp3.html

So is this site a parody the way landoverbaptist.org is?

BTW - I did get a really big kick out of Landoverbaptist, once I realized it was a joke....it took me a few minutes get it

I think that when you have people like the phelps family and their disgusting ideology, it's easy to believe that a site such as landoverbaptist could be real (well, i know the site is real.... but you know what i mean)

:D

av1611.org is the real thing, believe it or not.

The Katrina page doesn't make much sense. Old Testament disasters were preceded by prophets warning the people to turn from their wicked ways. You either believed the prophets or you perished. Katrina was known about well in advance. There wasn't a need for a prophet as you could have hoofed it out of town a couple of days in advance without changing wicked behavior.

Also, hurricanes are expected in that area. Big deal. Have an earthquake or hurricane in an area that never has one.

Phelps' church is just an inbred cult. Its members are his family members. The daughter that appeared on several talk shows repeats the same two or three evidences like a CTer. Publicity for the church is the sole concern.

I've been saying for some time now, the CT gene is dominant. It's more powerful then political ideology and, as shown here, religious preference.

That site is a funny parody, one that I direct actual Christians to.

However, av1611 is not a parody, but what someone actually believes. Scary.

My personal favorite Fundie theory is that God got Major League Baseball to force the Houston Astros to leave their stadium dome open so he could watch them loose the 2005 World Series as punishment for accepting the victims of Katrina into their city.

I believe in God/ess but no set religion and as for Phelps and his ilk, I'm a Patriot Guard Rider for just that reason.

I think God gave up the Phelps because we haven't accepted homosexuals enough!
