In this week's (Oct. 27/06) commentary, Randi makes a brief comment about a quack business that has a phone number starting with 666. Here in Vancouver, B.C., the 666 exchange is reserved for federal government phone numbers. I wonder what he'd make of that ...?

My exchange is 666. My whole phone number reeks of awesome. The 666 is just for starters.

My last three numbers are 999. So I'm only evil if you're standing on your head. ;)

The 666 exchange in Ohio (lived near there for a bit) was Bath, home of Jeffery Dahlmer.

When I got the P.O. Box for the Kaz mail, I could have had box 666. It was tempting, but I was creating a site to communicate with Christians, so I chose a less cool number.

Or you could be the UK emergency services.
Either's cool.

666 is the exchange for Waterford, Michigan. I used to own and operate a flight school at Oakland-Pontiac Airport (http://www.oakgov.com/aviation/contact/)in Waterford and had a 666 exchange which pleased me greatly.
A rival school at the airport demanded and received from Michigan Bell a different exchange. That school was the American Christian Aviation Acadamy. Their mission was to train pilots to fly urgently needed bibles to starving children in Africa.

Somewhere in Carbon County, Wyoming, there's a motorcycle that is issued the plate: 6-66. Lucky devil.

My phone number contains no less than five 6's in a row.
But it's a damn curse because, unless I say very clearly and slowly: 6, double 6, double 6, I am always asked to repeat it.

Here in Germany it's quite easy to select your own car registration plates.
The format is 1-3 letters for the city (N=Nuremburg; M=Munich; B-Berlin etc with the more letters used for smaller cities), then up to three numbers (though I have occasionally seen four), followed by up to three more letters.
It's quite amusing to see the number of people who have apparently chosen 666 for their three numbers!

My birthdate is 01/16/66...funny...I don't feel like the anti-Christ (well, okay, maybe in the morning before I've had my first cup of coffee).:D

The normal weight for a person of 166 cm is 66 kg.
That's me when I can keep my weight there.

During this past summer's promotion for the movie Snakes on a Plane, there was a feature on the movie's website that allowed people to enter details about their friends (name, phone number, occupation, type of vehicle driven). The site would then call those people, using the recorded voice of Samuel L Jackson, who invited the listener to go see Snakes on a Plane. The phone call came from a 666-area code phone number. I thought that was clever.

If your user name was really long, maybe you wouldn't be able to post.

My user name deserves its own 666 exchange area code.

When I went to the 1995 IJA Festival in Las Vegas, I saw Penn Jillette wearing a black t-shirt that read "Team Satan 666" I still chuckle when I think of that shirt.

You must be in a different Germany, then. All the numberplates in the Gemrany I am in have 1-3 letters, 1 or 2 letters and then up to 4 (according to wikipedia, occasionally even 6) numbers.

Well if you were born in Britain your birthday would be a suitably less evil 16/01/66 and if you were born in Australia or New Zealand your birth date would probably have been the positively sanctified 17/01/66 (due to the difference in time zones).
Maybe I could set up a business re-registering the births of those with cursed birthdates.
Is your birthday DARKSIDED?
Re-register it today and keep the devil at bay!

Today I saw a license plate on a truck in front of me. "666 NWW" Too bad that last character wasn't an "O".
