Anyone know how (or if it is even possible) to have the tab bar in FireFox 2 on the left hand side of the window?

Wait for a Firefox extension called Vertigo to be compatible with 2.0.

Oh yeah that would be cool. I will definatly look out for vertigo for version 2. Most web sites are designed for thinner resolutions than I use so It would make use of some of the wasted space.

Do you know what - my monitor is indeed one that is designed to be turned through 90 degrees

Just use Opera. Its that simple. :)

That is why I know it's the best way.

Do so - makes much better use of landscape resolutions.

Out of preference I am but I use nearly all the major browsers every day so since browsers like FireFox and IE have eventually cottoned on that tabs are a good idea I just want them to be able put the tab bar where it makes sense...

I have a Phillips monitor that rotates. I thought it would be a handy feature, but in fact rarely use it. Great fun when you just turn it manually , then try to do anything with the mouse. It's like being drunk without the hangover.

Can't you also turn the image on the screen with your graphics card? I can.

I wish Microsoft word would use this for their tab pages.

Yes. I find adjusting my personal preferences in my mind is generally the best option.

On which axis?

Ah- now we're getting to the tricky stuff!
