View Full Version : Is Billiefan a Rapture Troll??

Well, what do you think??

I think it is annoying that Billie dredges up old rapture threads when he/she (jury still out on that topic?) has nothing new to say.

His/her constant Hal Lindsay postings are annoying too - in light of the fact that Hal first published his little "end times" saga back in 1970. Well guess what Billie - that was 33 friken years ago!!!! And, the rapture has yet to occur.

Here is a review of Hal's masterwork;
http://www.infidels.org/library/modern/gaunilo2/late.html

Billie, could it be that you have been taken in - just as the early Christian’s were taken in by prophets that promised them the return of Jesus IN THEIR LIFETIME??

Ah, who am I kidding Billie. You wouldn’t know scholarship or critical thinking if they came up and bit you on the a**. So, go ahead an post your next Lindsay cartoon that we “must see” or post your next link to some internet woo woo site that assures us the rapture is going to happen “any day now”.

Barkhorn.

Well, yeah.

Actually, Billie really isn't a troll because (1) he honestly believes this junk and (2) he's presenting it with intent to convert us, not just to envoke a reaction.

I agree with Upchurch. One can be a fool without necessarily being a troll.

Troll? No. Die-hard Believer, who isn't gonna budge an inch?
Probably. Bad person because of it? Nah, just set in their ways.

Billie's recent article links tells of fundies who are trying to use meterological disasters to scacre others into following their cause. I'm not sure I see the difference between this and terrorism other than the fact that these guys didn't cause the damage themselves. They're still taking advantage of it and are still threatening more if things don't change.

Well, they can rail at me as much as they like; tell me that I'm wrong, not the open-minded soul they see themselves as; tell me that I'm going to Hell because I question, not follow blindly. That's fine, as long as they (and others who think the same) remember:

It's YOUR God,
They're YOUR rules,
YOU burn in Hell!

It's all there on the RaptureReady message boards, just waiting for BF2000 to spread around the net.

I think billiefan is a little immature. at the moment he really believes this stuff.
He was probably brought up (maybe still lives with his parents) in a household where the rapture was talked about 24/7. Maybe a bit brainwashed. he says he wants discussion, but, invariably, bails out when people bring up points he cant answer ...............but he's here. He may learn some stuff. At a later stage, he may actually come to question the rubbish he's being fed, and some of the stuff he learns here may help him.
I can identify with that.

I've got no real problem with anyone who follows their beliefs; people will believe anything they want, regardless of the rest of us. I just don't like it when they try to shove them down my throat--'I'm right, YOU'RE wrong, period!!! You're ONLY hope is to do what I tell you, believe what I say!!!'
I still don't think that someone who lives a good & just life and never sins, is going to be eternally punished just because they don't accept someone's idea of a Supreme Being.

The First Doctor: "One day I shall come back. Yes, I shall come back. Until then, there must be no regrets, no tears, no anxieties. Just go forward in all your beliefs, and prove to me that I am not mistaken in mine."

He usually just pastes the content of some article and then disappears.

All we can really say of his views is that he likes posting garbage off other web sites and then not participating in any discussion about it at all.

Maybe because discussion means having to listen to what the other person is saying.

I hope, as a taxpayer, there is no jury still out on this topic!:D

That could be expensive: hotel rooms, room service, etc

I think (s)he would rather be a fisherman:

Gospel according to Matthew
4:18 And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.

4:19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

If someone tells you they're going to Heaven...
and telling you you're not, because you're not of their religion...
and they fall over in the forest...
except when it's dark on Tuesday, of course...

sorry,I have NO idea were I'm going with this!:D

Please, God, let your rapture commence tomorrow. Please take your beloved BillieFan away from us sane people. And if it's not too much trouble, take all the other Evangelists, Baptists, Mormons, Creationists, Jehovah's Witnesses, True Believers, Klansmen, certain cartoonists, street prophets, and others who spread the Gospels somewhere far away where we may never see or hear from them again. Thank you.

Now, why am I not surprised by this? Is it because most of the Christians in the United States have chosen to be such pains in the a**?

Probably...
