I couldn't agree more billiefan2000 that Ed Asner will make a fine Santa Claus and "Elf" will be fun for the whole family.

I won't stand for it! Do you mean to say that Santa will be telling all the kids to turn commo?

Well, his original name was Sinter Klaus (http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Cafe/4173/santa.htm), sounds like a good commie name to me :p

Ed Asner – the guy who has described the war in Iraq as racist, referred to the U.S. under President Bush’s leadership as an imperialist government and heaped praise on tubby tyrant Fidel Castro
This Ed Asner guy is a communist. I don't know what he's talking about when he refers to the war in Iraq as racist. Leftists love to think that white supremacy is going on all around them. Leftists just love the concept of white people being a bunch of racists. When white people aren't racists, leftists are disappointed and come up with a conspiracy theory that can't be proven wrong where white people are secretly racists.

You sound like you are joking and really would like it if he did tell all the kids to turn commo(I think that's your term for "commie"). I'm still waiting for you to confess that you're a communist.

Are you saying anyone who has "leftist" political ideas is not white?

How do you expect us to know what your talking about if you don't provide a reliable link? Intelligent people do not go to newsmax.

Neither do I, since no quote from Ed Asner is given expressing such a sentiment. There is a quote from a NewsMax piece that gives James Hirsen's interpretation of Asner's beliefs. You seem to be getting upset with Asner, not for what Asner said but for what Hirsen said.
My own principle on matters like this is fairly simple. Before I get upset with someone for saying something. I like to actually hear or read them saying it.
I'm quite willing to read James Hirsen's words and get upset with James Hirsen. I'm quite willing to read Ed Asner's words and get mad at Ed Asner. What I'm not so willing to do is read James Hirsen's words and get upset with Ed Asner.
If something in what James Hirsen wrote made me suspect Ed Asner had said something that would make me upset if I read it, I'd want to take the time to look up what Ed Asner said before getting upset with him. It takes a little longer that way, true, but it helps me be upset with the right person.
(For my part, nothing in what Hirsen wrote leads me to feel it is worth tracking down Asner's speeches to see what Hirsen is alluding to. If there were something worth getting upset over in Asner's remarks, it would have been easy for Hirsen to quote the remarks directly and give a source where others could look it up. The lack of such substance and documentation indicates to me this is at best a half-truth, some remark of Asner's that can only be interpreted the way Hirsen does through imaginative squinting. If you feel differently, and think there is substance to what Hirsen says, feel free to look up what he's talking about and share it. If there is something worth criticizing in Asner's remarks, I'll be glad to join you in criticizing them.)
Leftists love to think that white supremacy is going on all around them. Leftists just love the concept of white people being a bunch of racists.
Really? I'm something of a leftist, and this is news to me. Thank you for letting me know what I think.

Well I am not intelligent. I went to newsmax for 1st and last time. Looks chock full of rhetoric to me. Every time I have heard Ed Asner speak he comes across a conservative at times, and at other times as liberal.

I always thought that Santa Claus as we know it developped in Germany as Kinecht Rupricht and the Kristkind.
