Cause I have heard Many Conservatives inlcuding Jewish Conservatives who support Israel are very angered by those who claim to be Jewish Liberals and are in a place of Influence and claim to be Humanitarians but yet turn their back on their own Jewish Brethren not just in Israel but all over the World.


And to be fair many Christian Liberals are equally to blame cause most Christian Liberals who claim to be Humanitarians dont stand up for Israel either.

Gee billiefan, you managed to stumble upon an interesting topic.

What you bring up is a topic that is very controversial among Jews. Some see it as very problematic that Jewishness has become defined by a political litmus test vis-a-vis Israel. A lot of Jews don't think that their religious and cultural ties to Judaism should be intertwined with Israel -- which afterall did not exist for a few thousand years of Jewish history. You're even more stringent, apparently, in that you criticize Jews who don't talk about Israel.

This is like the radioactive topic of Jewishness. For many conservative Jews, if you question Israeli policies, it's tantamount to questioning the right of the state to exist.

By the way, who told you Gorafalo is a Jew?

Another by the way, there is nothing creepier than rapture-ready Christians taking the side of Israel. I know what you're up to.

Why do you equate Jewish Liberal with support for Israel?

Israel has both Conservative and Liberals within their population. Jewish people in America don't necessarily have to express any opinion about support for Israel.

I don't support Israel (or the Palestinians). It's not my country.

Well there's a thing. I know some Israelis in London who have no intention of going back. As one put it, "I'm not getting my balls shot off for some settler who wouldn't want me in his house because I'm not a good enough Jew". Does that bit of anecdotal evidence cancel out yours?

I did. Things are much the same in Britain. The Chief Rabbi recently had to withdraw a book which suggested that many religions have ideas to contribute. (I don't agree, but he wasn't able to say it without being slapped down.)

I may be a little lost here, but I do not understand connecting the support of Israel with the term Humanitarian. If it comes down to a Israel vs Palestine or Jew vs Arab issue does it follow that one is pro humanitarian and one is anti?

Incorrect, as usual. I don't attack Cristians per se, I attack the severely disturbed people who support Israel only because they think it's existence part of their vengeful diety's grand plan to destroy the world. For someone like me, who supports Israel for sane reasons, you can imagine (or you might if you didn't have an extremely narrow world-view) how your kind of "support" is not welcome.
