Caesar on TNT

Now that we've a proper forum, let the bitching begin. I know its in bad form to critique before the product can actually be seen, but, come on, its a TNT production. Anybody remember Attila? This is just for those out there who hadn't seen the commercials yet, I don't think it premiers until this weekend. But be ready.

I'll start it off with a very probable thumbs down.

Here's a proposition: I am sure it will be "bad" history (hopefully, not as bad as Braveheart, but bad I am sure). However, Caesar is a facinating topic and to the extent that it inspires anyone to learn more about his story or ancient Rome, or classical civilization, than it is a good thing. I don't expect people to pick up Livy or Tacitus, but you never know.....Heck, I'd be happy if just a few more people read "I Claudius" (I&II) or even Shakespear....

Those interested in historically-correct documentaries sans melodrama shouldn't be expecting TNT to provide them. :)

With Richard Harris and Christopher Walken on-board, I'm willing to give it a chance. If I want real history, I'll pick up a book. ;)

Oh and BTW... mmmmm, Valeria Golino...
