Ms Figes, 49, claims she is so sensitive to wi-fi's electro-magnetic waves she can instantly tell whether it is installed in a particular room.

Well, so do I. VERY high levels of Radio Frequency (RF) can cause cellular damage by heat. Levels of RF used by cell phones (and of course Wi-Fi) cannot, physically, heat cells to any measurable level. If RF at Wi-Fi levels is causing the symptoms claimed then there is an entirely new mechanizm at work. And anyone who can show and explain such a mechanism would certainly garner a Nobel in Physics.

Wifi can be pretty sickening. Especially trying to make it work with Windows.

Using XP PRO at work, and XP Home, at home, I find it an absolute no-brainer (and I know, 'cause I have no brain.)
Heck, I can even connect to my neighbor's connection! (please don't tell my neighbor).

That's part of the problem with trying to make it work properly. If it were done right, you wouldn't be able to use your neighbor's connection.

I run Apple OS X 14.2 and it works flawlessly in airports and public hotspots. Tried to set up a cheap wireless router at home and got a slow data rates. Reading the router's manual was like trying to decipher the Necronomicon.

os x 14.2? Did you get a developer's copy of the 2012 release?
PS if you meant 10.4.2 check the updates. It's up to 10.4.8 now.

Oh for the love of... Why do people insist on knee-jerk reaction? Even bloody Brainiac has shown that 100 mobile phones can't heat an egg - the science teacher(s) must be crying into their beer over this one.
