Seems our friend Mr. Hinn feels he needs to get around a tad quicker than on angels' wings... (https://www.bennyhinn.org/donate/donatenow.cfm?referrer=na_dove1&CFID=6802477&CFTOKEN=65139885)

That's a parody site, right?

We are entering a season of increasingly powerful evangelism and a time of the most widespread, massive global harvest in the history of Christianity.

Evidence?

And at these partners conferences, I was able to raise the first portion of the down payment, which was another miracle the Lord has provided us.

Many people over the world, including me, envy the States for their Freedom of Speech. I guess crap like the above mentioned web-site and that con man are the other side of the coin :(

Indeed they are. But it's still very much worth it.

I think living in South Carolina has done something to me. I didn't even consider this being a parody site.

As a result, we as a ministry made a decision recently to purchase an airplane—a significant, needed ministry tool to fulfill the vision God has given us to go to the nations of the world, declaring the Gospel to lost humanity.

Because we must be faithful stewards of the Lord, we retained one of America’s most respected aviation consulting firms to recommend a plane with sufficient range to go to the places God has called us to minister. It had to be the most cost-efficient, safe, and long-range plane we could possibly get.
(Bolding mine)

I've been an atheist for a while, but I don't remember anything about the apostles needing airplanes or God decreeing what kind of aviation consulting firm to hire. Maybe I just forgot.

Just noting - but not worried about it, there is another thread on this:

At least he's not threatening (promising?) that if he doesn't get the money, the Lord will "call him home."

He obviously hasn't paid enough attention to the Oral Roberts How to Scam Your Flock Guide to Fundraising.

Isn't God demanding money to do His work, when he can do it Himself with an infinitely small flick of his little finger, a bit disingenuous? Or at the very least, lazy (on his part) and pointless busywork (on ours?)

What does God need with a starship?

God doesn't really want the money - it's all just a test. What he really wants is for us to debase ourselves before him, prostrate ourselves with all the Wayne-and-Garth-like "I'm not worthy!"

He gets off on that.

That's correct. After all, it only makes sense that the creator of the entire universe would have a terrible self-esteem problem.

If Mr. Hinn really had faith, he wouldn't need a plane to fly.

Hmmmmm...does that mean Peter Pan is stronger than God?

Your understanding is that God is an a-hole?

No. Only things that exist can be a-holes.

You have GOT to be kidding. An airplane?! :jaw-dropp Have they ever heard of United Airlines? I mean, give me a break! If you want to minister to the peoples, use the money for supporting the missionary, not getting a plane. It is really cost ineffective to get one for mission work.
