View Full Version : Denmark - happiest workers in the world

How boring. Yet another accolade for the accolade-burdended state of Denmark.
Still, who am I to judge? So,...
Denmark has the most people (in the world) who are at least happy with their job, according to this (http://politiken.dk/erhverv/article206768.ece) Danish link.Apparently yet another bit of research was done, this time by this outfit (http://www.kellyservices.com) to determine, in its minor way, that Denmark is obviously the best place around.
These constant accolades could ultimately lead to some Danes having a big head. Hope that never happens.

To say anything bad about the utopia that is Denmark would be sheer blasphemy!

ETA: Yep, those B&K microphones do seem to have a good reputation. :)

They used to make those really nice wooden trains, Brio was the brand name, but these days they've included much plastic in the manufacture and the quality has as a result gone down. For shame, Denmarkianites! Your noble ancestor Grendel didn't rip the arm off Beowulf and nail it to his door (which makes a lot more sense than the other way around, really) just to see cheap plastic bastardize those lovely trains! Now go plow the wine-dark sea in your longships to Vinland, chop down some trees with your stone axes, and make me some trains!

If you make me some trains, I promise I'll send Aslan to Denmark to free you from your eternal winter. All he'll need is to be fed four British schoolchildren a day.
Aslan sez: Damn, those were nice trains.

Our eternal winter has already been removed. September, October and now November were all record setting months as to how warm they were.
And records have been kept since at least 1874.

all we had to trade for them were white guys pretending to be black with hats on sideways and clocks around their necks....

My understanding is that your major exports are jobs, CO2 and hot air.

Is this a picture of a recent big-hit band?

That was a picture of the pastries apparently called "Danish" in the US? Looked like meatballs to me.
Anyway, no, I have no idea why pastries are called Danish in the US. (I actually find it a bit of an insult given that no pastry I have ever tried in the US ever tasted as good as the ones made here. )

nah theyre a really pathetic export from the states that can be found all over europe, in plague porportions. Any time I see pics of denmark (and lately more and more in russia) of kids, its these types. Pretending to be black american hip hoppers. Its weird to me that so many would copy the very dumbest of american fads, yet it is some sort of blight upon the world

I see. Well, let me put your mind at ease, my friend. Anyone looking like the weirdos you posted a picture of, would be a very, very small minority here.

In Sweden, these delicious pastries are known as "Wiener breads". Wieners, on the other hand, are simply referred to as "hot sausages". Unless they are Frankfurters, of course, or French specials. The latter is somewhat of a specialty for my home town of Gothenburg.
Anyway, Danish Danishs' seem to come with a bit too much chocolate for my liking. Ok, they are still absolutely fantastic, but not entirely perfect.

You may of course think what you will, as I believe this is still allowed in your country, but you are nevertheless wrong. And your link doesn't seem to have much relevance.

They are known as "Weiner breads" in this country as well! Finally something our countries agree about. :)

Officially, according to the Patents/Trademarks boards, you should call them Legos. No one I know of ever bothers to capitalize them here.

I have no idea. Well, I'm happy with the way my particular company lets me travel the world and isn't all that particular about me making a bit of money while I do so. Otherwise, my home office is pretty ******.

Derail, just read about some guy out west who went to toy stores changed the UPC code on the $100.00 legos sets to $19.00 and sold them on Ebay. He made something like $600,000.00. He was very happy with his job.

I think you should insert into your mouth whatever rocks your boat. :)
Seriously, I don't know why people here feel especially happy about their jobs. I suspect it is just a side-effect of living in the greatest country ever, but that's just my opinion.

Well you swiped the idea from America. We had "Lincoln Logs." And you made them look less turd-like and more plastic-like. In case you didn't know, Abraham Lincoln built the log cabin in which he was born.
