I know this is a bit old, but I just saw it on 20/20:

OMIGOD!

These people - the managers - need to be sterilized, now, before they breed. I'm not blaming the victims - they were young and psychologically defenseless. But how can an adult who has watched TV cop shows be this dumb?

Of particular interest in the primary case detailed above, note how it ends. One guy - an old janitor who dropped out of school after 9th grade - gets called in, and he says... "This is wrong."

ONE GUY.

That's all it took - one guy to say, "Hey, this doesn't make sense."

That guy is us: that guy is the skeptic.

It only takes one.

I found that unbelievable. Snopes (http://www.snopes.com/humor/iftrue/pollster.asp) says it's real, too.

I'm too dumbfounded to add anything to the conversation.

I'd read about the incidents a while ago, but didn't know they'd caught a suspect. Looks like he was acquitted in the one case that's been brought so far: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15504125/. They do make the point that there have been no more of these since they nabbed him, and there may be other trials.

Here's an old thread (http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?t=47621) dealing with the same event.

Something interesting that came up in that thread was the Milgram experiment (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milgram_experiment).
