For those of you who are interested: There will be a day trip to the Nevada Test Site, the day before The Amazing Meeting (January 16). The trip will depart in the morning, around 9:30 or so and will be either by bus or cars, depending on how many people end up going. The only cost of the trip will be the transportation and cost of lunch (assuming you want to eat). As stated, this will vary based on turnout, but hopefully I’ll know soon. It won’t be much either way.
The first stop on the trip will be the Nuclear Testing Museum, followed by a tour of the test site itself. Sites include the houses used during nuclear tests in the 1950’s, some training facilities, the Sedain crater, and nuclear waste disposal sites.
I contacted the site and I have been trying to find out about cameras. They are not normally allowed, but I know that there have been documentaries, photo projects and other things filmed there. I assume that arrangements could be made, but thus far, they haven’t been very much help (at all).
Please let me know ASAP if you are interested. US citizens will need to register by January 6, but it’s recommended to do so a few days earlier. Non-US citizens should contact me as soon as possible, because papers need to be filed and it can take a bit longer, depending on citizenship, visa requirements ect ect..
Please post here or email me at Packard.stephen@gmail.com if you are interested.
Thanks
