My nephews are 7 and 4. The 7-year old is getting into astronomy - I'm pretty sure the family already has a telescope (only pretty sure, because I'm the world's worst aunt who never talks to anyone in my family). I don't want to spend too much but it would be nice to buy my nephews' love. Suggestions?

Currently I'm considering this rocket thing (http://scientificsonline.com/product.asp_Q_pn_E_3039433), this star finder (http://scientificsonline.com/product.asp_Q_pn_E_3038104), or Night Sky Monopoly (http://scientificsonline.com/product.asp_Q_pn_E_3082648) because even though it's goofy, the family does love games and it could be a fun way to learn some of the terminology and stuff.

What else? Feel free to post cool science gifts for other ages, too, since I'm sure a lot of people here are looking for neat stuff right now.

I grew up outside Philly, and once in a while our family would make the Hajj to Edmund Scientific, which has an online store ( http://scientificsonline.com/default.asp?sid=google&cm_mmc=google-_-cpc-_-edmu-_-edmundsscientific&bhcd2=1165502127).

Loads of wonderful stuff.

It's not astronomy, but my youngest son loves Snap Circuits (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00008BFZH/ref=pd_sl_aw_alx-jeb-9-1_toy_18682812_21?tag2=amd-google-20).

Don't forget lego technics. That's what I loved at 7. I think 7 might be early for a toy that directs how it is to be played with. Once you have made a lego technics model you have lots of bits to try other things with. It develops fore planning and curiosity. And for the 4 year old there are other construction type toys that will amuse for hours. Basically Construction toys rock. :)
