hmm, googling now...
"Bush has created chaos in Iraq and in our own country. The same person who called Kerry a flip-flopper committed the biggest flip-flop when he said he didn’t believe in nation building and then went on to invade Iraq. Where are the conservative principles he pledged to uphold. Bush is not a conservative. He’s just inept. He’s lost control of the federal budget through his wild deficit spending, allowed Iran and North Korea to expand their nuclear technology, placed inexperienced cronies in top federal positions and failed to secure our ports and nuclear power plants 5 years after 9/11"
Is from a november blog of hers...

Well they've finally put it on. James Brolin was quoted in public promoting this website:
911weknow.com (http://www.911weknow.com/)
As you say there's nothing in her blog about it...but Fox just aired a short vid showing Brolin in some red carpet type setting. Seems during an interview he promoted the website.
Wow! It's another great day for the trooth!

It really makes perfect sense. Movies and television are realms of artificial drama in which the laws of science and the rules of social interaction are often suspended in the name of entertainment.
Therefore, actors/directors/writers/producers and the "truth" movement are a perfect match.

I'm not sure about that. I think it has more to do with the issue of celebrity endorsements and how lightly they can be taken i.e. not investigated. Celebrity isn't limited to people in the business of artificial drama. Do you have reason to believe that pro athlete endorsements, for example, are more trustworthy than those made by people in the creative entertainment industry?

Yer welcome. The guy reminds me of a caller "Pete" to the Goyette radio show (http://www.911podcasts.com/files/audio/A003I060823-am-c3.MP3) when David Coburn from Popular Mechanics was on. Partial transcript:
caller Pete: What about the 7 hijackers, 7 to 9 hijackers that were reported in the British press, who came forward and said "we're alive". What are we doing on the FBI's list of so called hijackers, we're alive and well. How do you explain that one?
Davin Coburn: Actually, my explanation for that is that've read that one BBC report that claims that-
Pete(interrupting): There was more than one BBC report-
Davin Coburn: But actually, it's not. That's the one thing that we've found, and that was absolutely one of those things that we looked into, I promise you. I mean that would be
Pete(interrupting): Are you saying that's false?
Davin Coburn: I am saying that is false.
Pete: Ok, how did you verify that?
Davin Coburn: Have you seen any other reports beyond-
Pete(interrupting): Let me ask you my question again, how did you verify it's false?
Davin Coburn: Because-
Pete(interrupting): Just because you don't to want to believe it's true-
Goyette(interrupting): Stop, stop, stop, stop, Ok Pete, you asked him a question, now let's find out what his answer is. Real simple question. How did you verify that the story, the British story, was false?
Davin Coburn: The remains of the hijackers who have been widely understood to have been on those planes have been-
Pete(interrupting): What remains?
Davin Coburn: There was DNA evidence collected all over the place-
Pete(interrupting): The building was incinerated, the concrete turned into powder, there were molten pools of steel in the bottom of the building that were still...hot... weeks after, and they were able to do autopsies on bodies? Are you crazy? Are you insane?
Davin Coburn: Have you seen photos of these hijackers that you're talking about-
Pete(interrupting): Where are the autopsy reports you're referring to, on the hijackers. Where are those reports? I haven't heard anything about autopsy reports.
Davin Coburn: Particularly, out of the Pentagon actually there-
Goyette(interrupting): Well I wanna know, even if we presume that you're correct that they recovered the DNA of the 19 hijackers from the rubble, where did they get their original DNA against with to match it.
Davin Coburn: My point-
Goyette(interrupting): No, don't go to your point, go to my point. Where'd they get the original DNA of a bunch of middle-eastern, uh, Islamic madmen. Where'd they get the DNA, had they submitted the DNA before they uh, I mean where the hell'd they get it? You're not even talking sensibly with me.
Davin Coburn: Off the top of my head I don't know the answer to that but I'll look-
Goyette(interrupting): Of course you don't.
Davin Coburn: I'll get back to you with it.
Goyette: Is that a promise?
Davin Coburn: I will do my best.
Goyette: People all across the state of Arizona now, are hearing Davin Coburn say on the show that he's gonna find out how they got that DNA checked against those Islamic terrorists who had shaved their bodies naked....
--Shortly, Goiter asks Coburn the same DNA question again.

I personally don't trust endorsements from anyone, and I'm not sure how I implied that I did. Why should I care about what any celebrity thinks?
I was merely pointing out in a half-joking way that the job of someone like Sheen, Lynch, or Brolin qualifies them to be on the side of the "truth" more than it qualifies them to be on the side of the real truth.

You are taking this way too seriously. I was merely making a joke comparing the content of TV shows/movies to conspiracty theories. I can see now that this attempt at humor failed.
If you want a serious discussion about why celebrity endorsements are untrustworthy, then fine. I don't trust celebrity endorsements because they are usually paid for and they, with rare exception, come from someone who is unqualified to give an expert opinion on the subject at hand. The only endorsements I care about are those from people who are experts in the field that concerns the subject and which are not paid for.
I'll refrain from making jokes from now on.

I dunno.
I'm small potatoes in that area, but am an actor (SAG) and writer (still independent. Read: starving).
I definitely have the ability to make up all kinds of stuff for the purposes of entertainment. But: I also know fantasy from reality. I've found most people in the "industry" are very similar.
Actually, actors and friends know more than anyone else just how phony films and TV are. Comes from doing 20 takes of the same scene - because the fake smoke didn't quite hang in the air long enough.

On the subject of celebrities, one of my favourite comedians is Chris Morris (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Morris_%28satirist%29), whose show Brass Eye (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brass_Eye) featured celebrities giving endorsements to made up campaigns and having absolutely no idea what they were saying was utterly ridiculous.

I'm not so sure. Streisand is of Jewish descent, and we all know the 9/11 conspiracy crowd is only a short walk from the holocaust denial/worldwide Zionist conspiracy crowd. In fact, Brolin's 911weknow site links to American Free Press.
I've got a feeling Brolin chose to indulge himself in a little public Bush-bashing without fully investigating just who and what he was jumping into bed with.
I also think Babs is smart and PR-savvy enough to realize that siding with the 9-11 conspiracy crowd would not be good for her public image.

Why are there no cool people who believe the CT?
It's a bit like the 1980s Conservative Party conferences in the UK - they used to reel out their celebs and it was like a who's who of bores, hasbeens and the criminally unfashionable.
Now if Tony Bennett or DeNiro suddenly started talking about 'collapse in it's own footprint' or 'suspended laws of physics', then I'd sign up for woowoo!

There's just one thing wrong with these "dihydrogen monoxide" stunts when you think about it - just how many times have you heard of water refered to by its chemical name? I consider myself pretty well knowledged in scientific affairs, and I believe the first time I ever heard of "dihydrogen monoxide" was on a spoof site.
Heck, I even had a chemistry class in HS (back when they let students handle dangerous materials,) and when it came to water, we refered to it as water...

I've never really thought of that. Filmmaking is usually about breaking rules, so filmmakers do so eagerly.
They don't obey speed limits
They smoke/inject/snort/lick illegal substances
They illegally copy music/films(never understood why they rip off their own industry)
Etc...
And they are indignant any time anyone tries to stop them.
