I've finally installed Explorer 7 and I have a few web based programs that require a custom security setting and because of this every single page I go to I get a bar popping up at the top that says "Your current security settings put your computer at risk, click here to change your security settings."

Does anyone know how to turn this off? I need my current settings but I will have to go back if I can't get rid of this. If I click the option to have it repaired for me my programs stop working and I have to go back and reset the settings which puts it back on custom. As long as it's on custom this pops up. I've searched and google and can't find anything on this. I'm comfortable with editing the registry if that's what it takes.

Thanks.

Obligatory "switch to Firefox or Opera" post.

I had a similar problem with a couple of our local sites. What I did is went into Tools>Internet Options>Security and clicked the Local Intranet icon. I just turn the slider down to medium-low and it still gives me a message about the Certificate not being from a trusted source but it lets me click on Continue. I think you'll want to use the Trusted Sites icon, add your websites and set the security lower.

Odd. I've been using IE 7 for about 3 months with no similar issues. And I also have a rather long list of strange configuration settings required for it to function.

But I agree. Firefox is the way to go. I generally only use IE for IE specific web sites such as my company intranet portal and Sharepoint.

Who is this 'Explorer 7" you speak of. I have overheard speculation that he comes from the kingdom that also discovered the terrifying blue screen.

Happy Birthday Starthinker!!!:D

That's the way to go.
