That's from the National Geographic Channel show.

The moon landed? More than once?

Man, I wish I had seen that!

It's amusing that they equate CTists with Skeptics. Yeah yeah, they're skeptical that man actually landed on the moon, but that's the opposite of the way we use it.

Well, if the government told you one thing, and all the evidence you'd looked at really did point in another direction, then you're a conspiracy theorist and a sceptic. When you're a sceptic you are sceptic about claims that contradict evidence, whether the government makes those claims or someone else. It is entirely possible for a CTist to be a sceptic.

However, in this case they are not looking at the evidence.

Many CTers (not all) are automatically suspicious of what the government (any gov't) or authorities tell them, even before looking at any evidence. They then only look at evidence that supports their claim, and assume any evidence that supports the goverment's version is fabricated or wrong.

skeptic.

what's so hard about using the "K" instead of the "C"...
this is the one thing that bugs me about Ctists and their bad spelling... how one little letter changes the whole meaning of a word.

Are you remembering that sceptic would be the proper British (and hence Australian, NZ, etc) spelling?

What's the difference in meaning between skeptic and sceptic? I thought it was simply a US vs UK spelling convention.

In the case of the Apollo hoax believers they willfully reject or ignore the preponderance of evidence.

I'm guessing that Arus808 is confusing sceptic with septic.

Both the OED and American Heritage Dictionary accepts sceptic as a spelling of the word. The latter link won't work for you if you are not a paying member of the OED.
