Scrut...I beg you...if you are sending some sort of message...please... you don't have to do it!
Just because Rebecca pretends not to be utterly besotted with you, that's no reason to--
*what?*
Ok, just because Rebecca is utterly besotted with you, that's no reason...
Oh, never mind.

When will the Paris Hiltons, Britney Spears and Saddam Husseins of the world realize that kids look up to them and will copy their actions?

The way I see it, at least no one blamed a heavy metal band for this suicide. I'd laugh if this weren't so sad.

Another one, in India, this time, and, this time, on purpose (http://www.news24.com/News24/World/News/0,,2-10-1462_2051037,00.html).
Kolkata, India - A 15-year-old girl from eastern India hanged herself in response to the execution of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, police and family members said on Thursday.
"She said they had hanged a patriot. We didn't take her seriously when she told us that she wanted to feel the pain Saddam did during the execution," the girl's father, Manmohan Karmakar, told AFP by phone from the town of Kharda.

:eye-poppi Not letting my kids watch it, nuh uh, this is just too weird. Curiosity kills the cats and all...
I'm a parent, and I can't be rational about this in any way.

About the girl...She kept watching the scene over and again
Um, didn't her parents think to tell her to do something else after a while or SOMETHING?? If my kid got that obsessive about it, I wouldn't let him/her watch it over and over again.

I'm surprised there aren't more suicides of this type. Some preteens do tend to get heavily fixated on certain stuff, but do not have the adult sense to realise just how dangerous these fixations can be. Fortunately most of them will fixate on "I WILL become Prime Minister" or "I WILL save the world" or "I WILL find a cure for cancer" - something positive like that. Alas, some others go the dark route...

Sad for the families to see members of their family becoming obvious candidates for the Darwin Award at such an early age.
Still, it was probably for the best, all around.

Children don't qualify for darwin awards. The issue is that they do not have enough of an knowlage base to make good descisions.

Absolutely, in a few more years he'd be capable of reproducing.
