Im currently invloved in a debate which has included some extraneous info on Ahmed Salem, the Egyptian who the FBI used in a sting concerning the 93 world trade center bombing. Anyone have any useful links or info on this guy and what went on with him and the FBI? I have someone claiming it was a real "Northwoods" type op and I cant find a whole lot about it.
Thanks again. Is it just me or is the search function here not very useful?

If you do a google search and append it with site:randi.org that often works better than the forum search.

Thanks for that tip, maccy. I, too, find that the search function is not particularly, well, functional, at times.

Also, with Arabic names, it helps to know the different transliterations. Emad Salem seems to be a quite common spelling.
With a little bit of fiddling in the search, I found this thread:

It has kkkillklown and pd'oh in it, so be warned. I didn't read all of it so I'm not sure how much non-bickering-eejit useful information there is in it. You can always bump it if you have unanswered questions.

This guy (Mike Levine) has, somewhere on this site, tape of Salem and his FBI handler. Levine has said this is the absolute worst handling of an informant he has heard of, and he's a 25-year DEA agent. If you can't find the tape, you can try e-mailing him (he generally answers).

Some links that don't seem to be inclined to jump to conclusions too badly:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emad_Salem
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Trade_Center_bombing
I haven't looked into it closely enough to see how good this information is, though, so tread carefully.
