I just want to clarify something that I've gotten a zillion emails (and even phone calls - who uses phones???) about....

I did not claim to be the FIRST to come up with the ice theory. I'm well aware that others have proposed it too.

I simply claim to be the first to have video showing the moving lake. :)

Excellent episode. I loved the moving lake video as well.

Thanks for the links Meclizine,

I have known about the moving rocks for a long time, but I have never heard an explanation that I thought was likely to be correct.

If briandunning and his friends were the first to come up with this theory I think they have really accomplished something, I would be very surprised if there explanation is not the correct one. I know there has been a number of attempts to photograph the movement that have failed.

Other people have proposed the ice idea, but to my knowledge nobody has ever filmed the moving ice sheets before. There are also other ice-related hypotheses that appear to be wrong, involving rocks sliding on top of ice.
