Which news stories interested you, but then were not followed up?

Remember the "mystery ships" that supposedly set sail from Iraq and possibly carrying WMD way back before the invasion of Iraq? I never heard any followup after the initial reports.

Missing airplane spotted

The paper said the plane was spotted on June 28 by a Canadian pilot, Bob Strother, in Conakry, sporting a new coat of paint and a Guinean registration number.

I remember hearing the followups on a lot of sketchy 9-11 reports from Jeff Cohen of FAIR. He went through them in a list of "did you ever hear the retraction for this?" though and not part of a real followup.

I miss him on News Watch.
