Yeah, this was used in Loose Facts to show a 'mysterious' phone call, but I just watched a clip from The Last Hour Of Flight 11 and the guy who was on the phone to the very woman who says my thread title's quote speaks on the show.

Now you remember Dylan and Co and how it was read on Loose Brains "I see water. Buildings. OH MY GOD!" but according to this Clip there was infact LESS emphasis on the 'oh my god', its almost whispered.

Part 6 contains the part i'm referring to. This might not be 'debunking' of sorts, but it is a very good docu, and I just thought that I would bring this to the light of the forum.

Regardless of what tone the "OMG" was said in, how on earth could that be proof of a faked call?

If I was freaking out in a hijacked plane and saw that the flight was coming in low over NYC I'd probably utter an "oh my God" as well.

Yeah all these guys are experts on human behaviour in stress situations. Chances are half of us would be so frozen with fear, we would not be able to speak. But hey what do I know

I might have said "Oh my science"

just because i'm used to saying that now.

i think the argument made in loose change was that she said water and buildings, but didnt identify it as manhattan

although lookign out of an airplane window, at 1000 feet going 500mph, im not sure id recognize manhattan (or chicago) either

"oh my god" might have been said upon the recognition of Manhattan.

What is the overall argument? That this wasn't a real phone call from the hijacked plane, because she didn't say "Oh my god, we're flying into Manhattan"?

Yep, they parodied it in a pretty ugly way. Making it laughable.
At least that was what i thought when i saw it the first time.

It is this type of lie, slander, and simply abhorant display that makes me truely disgusted with Dylan, Jason, and korey, as human beings. No matter what your beliefs are on who may or may not have committed the acts of 9/11, there are certain things that shouldnt be said or suggested. Certain areas you don't go. these include mocking the victims or the first responders, among others.

Makes me very mad.

She was likely looking out the side windows of the airliner, describing what she saw, possibly not sure exactly where they were, then realized where they were headed.

If it were me, realizing that I was about to die, if I said anything it would probably be quite profane and probably quite obscene.

It is the very fact that they debate these isssues. These personal topics dealing with the final words of a person before they die. Not only is it minutia in terms of its relevence, but it is not something anyone should voice an opinion on, unless asked...that is why it angers me.

Or upon the horrible, unthinkable, tortuous realization that, sooner or later, the aircraft was going to hit one of those buildings.

I'd love to see Sweeny's husband give Avery a sound slug in the gut. He wouldn't though, I imagine. He's likely 10-fold the human being.

this quote from loose change always bugged me. it shows such insensitivy at the part of dylan avery. if he has a soul somewhere.....he is regretting making fun of the last words of this poor woman.

Especially is you watch the end of the episode and see the relatives speak. How can anyone think that they're doing good by promoting Conspiracy Theories.

*is mad*

It's this sort of thing that makes me wonder whether twoofers' brains (and I use the term Loose-ly) are wired differently from normal folk. How, exactly, is this call "mysterious"? Are there no water or buildings in Manhattan? Has no one ever uttered "Oh my God" in a terrifying situation? What, exactly, are these people hanging their hats on here?

I don't get it (something for which I probably ought to be thankful).

Their minds are wired in "We are the Hardy Boys" mode. They think that situation X should yield response Y, and only response Y. Any other response is considered suspicious, warranting further inquiry.

I believe their problem with her call was the fact that she didn't seem to recognize New York City. They don't realize that looking out the small side windows of a low flying, very fast moving plane could make establishing your location difficult.

could make establishing your location difficult.
Especially if you're in terror, under terror, under threat, not had any idea where the plane had been going for a while.

Who the hell wrote the script for our grand conspiracy?

I can't believe that we managed to come up with so many obvious anomolies such as (apparently) unbelievable dialogue, dodgy photographs, debris fields which don't look right, buildings which collapse through obvious CD, verbal slip ups by our major players and FDR data allowed to be examined by amat...I mean, skillful internet slueths.

I tells ya, we gotta do better on the next one.

where Y is determined as Y =/= Z and Z is is the response that did happen

for example if she had said "oh my god, we're over manhattan" LC would comment about how unlikely it is that a flight attendant could recognize manhattan going 500mph

Good point

I find this to be true about many , many arguments they use.

I would think that lower Manhattan would be easily recognizable to anyone familiar with it flying low overhead-- it doesn't really look like anywhere else in this area-- but I don't see how the quoted language supports the view that she didn't recognize where she was. Also, now that I think about it, the WTC was almost at the edge of lower Manhattan-- it's entirely possible that, looking out the side window as the plane approached the towers, what she saw was either New Jersey or Brooklyn (depending on whether she was looking west or east), neither of which might be so immediately recognizable as they look more like any other urban area in the country.

Maybe she realized what's coming next and this
was the reason for her "Oh my god". Beside the
fact that she probably was confused and didn't
realized that quick where they are.

The idea that there's anything suspicious in this quote is just down to the CTs will to "see what they want to see". And the desire to build an enormous list of "anomalies", which most seem to think is more important than ensuring any of those points actually make any sense.

Arus808

in this case is "hear what they want to hear". that's how they get their quotes to support their claims.
