What do you think the odds are that the next pope will be non-white? Im thinking slim to none. Its funny how the holier than thou will still fall into the racism pot. Wasn't it a big deal when they picked John Paul 2, who Polish.
I figure the next guy should be hispanic. So many spanish countries have fanatic roman catholics.

Here's a Time.com article discussing the current field of likely candidates to be the next Pope:
http://www.time.com/time/daily/special/papacy/succession.html
One of the candidates, said to be the current Pope's favorite, is Hispanic. Another front-runner is African. A third - perhaps a longer shot - is, interestingly, a converted Jew.
I've read a few other articles on this subject as well. My sense is that there's probably about a 30%-40% chance that the next guy to wear the funny hat will be black or Hispanic.
By the way, there have been three or four black Popes, just not for a very long time.

Its probably already happened considering that not all Europeans are white people. In southern Europe there are quite a few people of Mediterranean stock who have black hair, a swarthy complexion, and brown eyes. These people are not white people. I've read that there are also people of Mediterranean stock in southern Wales.
