Spanish given name of Jesus

I am curious about the use of the first name Jesus in Hispanic cultures. I have never met a non-Hispanic person named Jesus. Is there a difference between the Spanish Jesus and the English Jesus like perhaps Jesus means Joe in Spanish? I know the pronunciation is different but is it the same as the English Jesus Christ? If not, what is Jesus Christ in Spanish?

In Spanish, Jesus Christ is pronounced Hey-ZEUS KREE-stoh. Although not spelled exactly like the English version, the name in Spanish is instantly recognizable to most English speakers.

"Jesus" is basically the Greek form of the name "Joshua," and there are plenty of non-Hispanics named Joshua.

(Curiously, "Moses" is the Greek name of "Moshe." Other Old Testament characters are known by their English-adapted Hebrew names, but Moses is known by an English-adapted Greek name.)

As far as I know Jesus means the fellow in the new testament.

I've also never met a non-Hispanic named Jesus.

It's very common with Portugese people as well. The pronunciation is identical to Spanish.

I guess a better question to ask is why English speakers rarely name a child Jesus. We have Marys and Josephs and Peters, but not so many Jesuses. Why is that?
