This is a bit whimsical, I know and this thread would be nuked and myself banned if it ever appeared on the LCF, within seconds I dare say. However, I keep hearing about how the LC head apparatchiks make a (in)decent living from their swill and wondered the following:
1) How much income have they got from LC in it's various incarnations?
2) Of that income, how much is profit?
3) How much has been donated to charity?
I can guess the answer to 3) is $0.00. The others - YMMV

Dylan seems to think that giving away free DVD's to the families of victims to be enough charity.

Go to the library this saturday and log in, get email account, log on to LCF and ask the question, take PrintScrn, save the file, and you will have a record of being banned on LCF.
The list is long of banned people.
I think they have made over a million, and they tour around drinking beer, flying, and are now trying to make more money if they can. It is ironic they are making money with no facts on 9/11.
They are good capitalist, hope they pay their taxes or they will be joining that nut case in NH. Or be like the Blade actor.

You know, there is a way to think about their money that might make you feel better: People pay for a commodity partially based on how rare it is. Dylan's consumers are people who want to see something that says that 9/11 was a government conspiracy. Well, they can look around but all they'll mainly find is a market flooded with things that say that 9/11 was a Muslim extremist conspiracy. When they do find something that agrees with their paranoid world-view, they are so grateful that they are willing to pay very nicely to hear it.
The fact that the truth is free and the lies cost money is just more evidence that the audience for the liars is very, very small.

Sometimes I wonder if I could set up a paypal account and then go around to all the truther sites saying "donate money so I can spread the truth about 9/11!" Then I could take the money out of the paypal account and use it to buy a better computer. Then I could spend five minutes every day debunking truthers.

A while ago, Dylan said he'd donate money to the 9/11 victims, the money coming from LC:FC. He said something along the likes of 'I'll give more money than the makers of United 93 and World Trade Center did, which is precisely 0$"
We showed him that the makers of United 93 and W.T.C donated about $1.4 Million (IIRC) altogether, and we told him that we'd hold him to his pledge. All skeptics who posted on the matter were banned from his forum - some within minutes.
I seriously doubt that Dylan Avery and co. even care about the victims. Especially since parts of the movement he affiliates himself with say that the victims of 9/11 were in on 9/11.

On a similar note- has anyone come across anything for Alex Jones' enterprise? I've been looking very hard for a good year or so on what kind of profits his movies, talks, and appearances generate- but I can't find anything conclusive.
A lot of his stuff goes back to his daddy- which is apparently why he started his whole anti-government trip: his dad got in trouble for tax evasion. That's about as far as I can get, though. I'd be interested in knowing if CT's care about how much money he makes off them... but I doubt it would make a difference.

When you see the videos of him going to the families of victims of 9/11 and he says that he's going to give a free DVD, what is he thinking? The film promotes that the victims were in on it and yet he's sympathetic to them...

Is it possible that Avery and Bermas don't believe in the conspiracy whatsoever and are really just in it for the money?

That theory has been debated endlessly! I am part of the camp that believes that they are in it because of the money because of the nasty e-mails he sends to me when I mention that he's in it for the money. It comes off as a sort of "I'm not in it for the money, now stop asking me questions"

I am honestly starting to think that is the most plausible theory. They don't believe a word of the drivel. In fact, I am going to start a thread about it.

I brought this up a while back:
In one of Dylan's earlier "ego" videos (the ones where we get to see hours of Dylan and co. doing mundane things in preparation for the 9/11 anniversary at Ground Zero), there was a scene where Dylan, Korey, and Bermas all drive their four-wheelers as they mug for the camera.
Now, I hate to speculate like a CT, but wasn't Dylan sleeping on people's couches and delivering pizzas just last year? Didn't he say that he had no money? I don't think that I'm going out on a limb when I speculate that Dylan and the Looser crew bought those ATVs with some of their new found money.
What's funny to me is that the idiots that worship Dylan are watching the LTW ego videos and thinking what a great asset Dylan is for the movement. But they don't even uunderstand how he's rubbing it right in their faces how stupid they are; "Hey look at me on my new ATV that YOU paid for when you bought my stupid DVD. Next year I want a BMW, so I'm making a 'real' movie. Please come see it!!"

Isn't that ever so familiar though.
Does anyone remember the televangalists the Bakers(Jim and Tammy-Fae).
they lived large and flaunted it but many people still believed that they were doing the Lord's work, oh yeah and Praise Jesus.
True believers are often blinded by faith.

That's exactly how I feel when I see pictures of George Lucas on that stupid ranch. Those Star Wars movies sucked. And I paid money to see all six of them.

Well, I thought everyone knew what 'rode hard and put away wet' meant.
It comes from riding a horse hard, then not taking care of it properly afterward and just putting it back into it's stall.

Speaking engagements.
Musicians and comedians rarely make a lot of money off their CDs and such. But live appearances are a gold mine.

I believe DA started LC as "a bit of fun" really not comprehending what he was doing. Actually we KNOW that's how it started because he says he started it as a FICTIONAL piece.
But then actual crazy people came along and believed it. They offered to pay to get it done properly.
And here is where he made his one fatal mistake. Had he been a true filmmaker, with convictions, and a desire to express the "greater truth" about the human condition, he'd have rejected the proposal to pretend fiction was truth.
But he isn't a filmmaker. He wants to be "famous". It's like those people who want to be movie stars, not actors. So he sold out. He let his doco become fact instead of fiction. He sold his soul for some fame.
I think he knows very well that his entire documentary is garbage. I think it's obvious when he's interviewed, or issues are raised on the subject.
But imagine if he one day said "hey, it was all a lie, I'm not a truther". He can't do that. Too many people have invested too much energy in his lie. And some of them are crazy, and frankly dangerous.
He's being held hostage by his own film's popularity.
