Score one for the good guys :)
http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/february2007/150207bbcdocumentary.htm
Although I am a little skeptical of Prison Planet, I can see what they are saying.
Many posters to the 9/11 Blogger site were skeptical of the show's balance and fear it could be one of the most sophisticated attacks on the 9/11 truth movement to date, using nebulous strawman tactics that elevate unproven theories about hologram planes, exotic weaponry and Jewish conspirators above hardcore evidence.
"Judging from my experience with (producer) Guy Smith, this will be a hit piece," stated one.
Thoughts?
(I was going to post this is the current BBC thread but I thought separate article, separate thread)

Another tactic is likely to be constant reference to NIST and the 9/11 Commission in an attempt to debunk every question raised by "conspiracy theorists,"
Now I know it's going to be accurate.

i sense a paradox, arr 4$"(!? sounds to me like it's going to be "a balanced piece", so balanced it will give the CTers too much credit, to prevent arguments or for popularity.

If this is about the BBC Conspiracies series then thats exactly what the show will show...various conspiracies about what ever topic it is the show is covering.
These morons cannot pick and choose which conspiracies represent their movement since their movement is all about conspiracies in the first place.

Alan: standard Beeb behaviour with this sort of program is to devote the first section of the show to covering the conspiracies before utterly demolishing them. So nobody panic if it's looking a bit woo to begin with, K?

Looks like they will examine the underlying psychology of woo. From that article:
But the deeper you dig in the dark world of conspiracies, the more you realise that different theories share much in common. The conspiracy theorist seizes on any apparent inconsistency and from that germ of truth the story is built up.
What happened to the white car apparently involved in Diana's accident? Was there a second gunman on the Grassy Knoll? And why did it take so long to scramble US fighters on 9/11?That bodes well, I think.

Death rays, hologram planes, explosive paint, therm(a/i)te doing all sorts of acrobatic things, remote contolled collapsing lamp posts, drones, missles, government disinfo agents, fake fires in PA, fake phone calls, air to air missle batteries at the pentagon, growing truther revolution, impossible manuvers, faked flight data recorders, controlled demolition, people secretly being moved off planes to be resettled / killed, ISI connections to UBL, UBL being a CIA agent, UBL imposters, faster than freefall collapses, near freefall collapses, lack of fires at WTC 7, buildings falling into their own footprint, joos did it, neocons did it, PNAC did it, Gravy did it...any thing I missed?

Just an aside, when I appeared on the BBC radio program, the interviewer mentioned before the taping that his typical job was to play the devil's advocate with the people representing both sides of an issue, but that he didn't feel much like it in this instance.
I think it gets back to the polling data, which clearly shows that the folks who buy into this nonsense tend to be the least educated and the young (aka, the least wise).

BBC LEAK! Battle over Sunday's 9/11 documentary
Will this Sunday's BBC documentary whitewash 9/11?
http://www.nineeleven.co.uk/board/viewtopic.php?t=7030
Thanks to a dedicated poster and campaigner on this forum (whose name is associated with the initials SG), I put this together and sent it round my e-mail list. I believe Ian Crane is also posting something, so you might like to wait for that as well.
Review - and decide on your action:
=============================
We have discovered from a source inside the BBC that there are 2 versions or "edits" of the upcoming conspiracies documentary - one of which is a "whitewash" version. Our source tells us the guy pushing for the Whitewash Version to be broadcast is GARTH ANCIER:
http://business.guardian.co.uk/story/0,,2013028,00.html
He was in the Guardian YESTERDAY. Coincidence?
Action:
e-mail the addresses below, and any others you may be aware with a message like the one below. Let them know we know the gist of the game. We know from our source there are people in the BBC pushing for the truth to come out - so let's hear it for them. Well, what are you waiting for?

---------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------
Dear Sir/Madam,
We have discovered from a source within the BBC that there are 2 versions of the upcoming "Conspiracies" documentary about 9/11. We understand that there are people in the BBC who want the truth to come out and other ones that don't. We understand that the main person backing the "whitewash" version is Mr Garth Ancier.
http://business.guardian.co.uk/story/0,,2013028,00.html
Of course, as you will realise, this calls into question the standards of professionalism, journalism, honesty and integrity which seem to be at work in the BBC. We KNOW 9/11 was an inside job, and however many times David Icke or "No Planes" is mentioned in relation to it, it will not detract from the smoking guns which more and more people have now seen and understand.
We therefore strongly advise that the "honest" version is broadcast on Sunday, because if it is not, the BBC's reputation as a news broadcasting entity will be forever tarnished or destroyed. Clearly, we must also call into question the motives of an executive who can (or is trying to) influence what is to be broadcast, and this matter will need serious review also.
As you may know, William Rodriguez, Decorated hero and survivor of the World Trade Centre Disaster, is speaking around the UK. His testimony blows apart the official story of 9/11 and this will likely have been heard and read by 10s or 100s of thousands of people by the end of this month.
So, we know what the game is, and we are now "calling your bluff". We are watching you and waiting for your response.
Yours Sincerely,

I remember a BBC documentary on homeopathy were the first long part of it were pure glorification of the followers and subject at hand. I was working up a frenzy of the sloppieness of the producers and the low quality of their research when - sudden like the last part of a Rocky movie - the focus changed and one of the more thorough debunkings I've ever see commenced. It was pure slaughter.
Very good programming me thinks.

I don't get how the CTs think for it to be 'fair and impartial' the documentary shouldn't debunk their myths.
I mean, they're showing the conspiracy side, and our side.
So they're showing both sides...if that's not fair and impartial I don't know what is.

The BBC doesn't like to have commercials. And whilst individuals may not be able to buy this, other TV stations can, but would be disinclined to do so if their audience had already watched it on you tube.

It was a more effective piece because instead of following up each stupid theory and giving detailed expert analysis - a la Popular Mechanics - it talked to the people supposedly involved in a mass murder scheme.
Ironically, there will be people who see the programme and think that it confirms the theories. When Fetzer and Avery assert, as a matter of FACT, NO PLANE HIT THE PENTAGON, and WTC7 WAS A CONTROLLED DEMOLITION, that will carry more weight than the absence of evidence.
