I wasn't able to figure out from JRs short comment about the old movie Capricorn One whether he was agin it or not. I thought it was decent science fiction - much more decent than you would expect, given the cast. That moment when the reentering spacecraft goes kablooie and the astronauts look at each other with that " we are farked" look? Movie gold. I am looking forward to the remake because the big concept of the story is compelling. It's fiction, people. Get a grip.

By the way, when I write, I often call upon ghosts and god as devices to further the narrative, but I do not find one iota of evidence for existence of these off of the printed page.

Problem is that SOME people think this fiction is evidence.

You mean it suggests that we didn't land on Mars!?

(Just kidding....)

paiute- while you may think you are writing fiction, you have no way to know how many readers think it is fact. While SF readers actually tend to be a bit brighter than the average bear, not all of them are sane. Some very smart folk are crazy.
