View Full Version : What Caused the North Tower Gash?

Notice the thin airplane wing-style cut through the steel columns to the left of this picture. It's well above where the left "wing" went through. What caused this gash?

You see a gash? I see columns discolored by soot. Disagree? Post a better photo and we'll see who's right. I won't hold my breath.

ETA: Here, I did it for you, because your deliberate ignorance doesn't permit researching your own claims.

..."to the left of this picture"???

TS, what do YOU think caused this "gash"? (I agree with Gravy, this is way too fuzzy a picture)

Look closely, there are soot marks between the real hole and the 'gash' and these soot marks look just like the 'gash' marks. Also above the 'gash' there are more soot marks which do not completely cover the grey color of the columns underneath.

No mystery here.

Once again no facts just garbage from Ace. Another miss and run.

I don't see a gash. I do see a raging fire and soot damage.....

This is fascinating, and demonstrative. Your post was just 17 minutes after his. That's how long it took somebody to find a picture that perfectly debunked it.

So... why couldn't Ace find it? Photos of the impact aren't exactly hard to find on the internet.

You may then ask, doesn't it occur to him that maybe he's skipping a step somewhere? That between step A (see a picture on a 9/11 conspiracy site) and step C (rub picture in those darned JREFer's faces) maybe he should do a step B, which is spend a few minutes seeing if there's another picture out there that explains it away?

Even looking at it from a Truther point of view, wouldn't he want to make sure his point was strong before throwing it out here?

The answer is no, because it's part of their methodology that an accumulation of 50 bad claims is better than one good, well-supported claim. Each one, no matter how frivolous, adds to the cloud of "unanswered questions" that will impress someone new to the topic.

I admit, I'm succeptable to this. If somebody says, "John Smith has been accused of child molestation 57 times, but was aquitted each time," I'm going to think of the guy as a child molester. Even if every single one of those claims is blatantly false, the sheer volume of claims make an impression.

And so here's one more, one more "unanswered question" to add to the pile. Even though it's been answered, even though all of them worth answering have been answered. And they'll forever be able to say, "But there's just so many unanswered questions surrounding the event..."

These are the images that The_Fire linked to -

See the flames in the same position as your "gash"?
Now you do know that the outer columns on WTC 1&2 were clad in aluminium don't you?
Now look carefully at the image Gravy posted - what do you think happened to the aluminium?

It was the hole from the 30mm chain gun of the stealth fighters that performed several attack runs on the World Trade Center. It is true, Lauro Chavez told me once at a VFW meeting.

Why do I get the feeling that BS1234 started this thread just so he could call Gravy, R. Mackey and AntiSophist government shills?

Especially since only Gravy out of his Big Three posted in this thread?

I don't have to know any of them in real life. They have all been steadfast enemies of idiocy, flaying conspiraloons without stint for at least the seven months I've been on this forum and in all likelihood much longer.

That's good enough for me.

I know Gravy. I know he doesn't get paid to post on this board. I know he goes down to Ground Zero of his own free-will to combat the ingorance and lies spread there by your movement. I know he bought a round of beers for Abby and I after a long day at GZ. I know he's one of the most down-to-earth, dedicated, and humble individuals I had the pleasure of meeting during my time in New York.

And I know he likes to sometimes put on his special pink boots and sing along to Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'" while doing a Texas two-step.
