Do you actually believe a roomful of atheists (and others) would be swayed by Charlie Daniels?!

"Well...if CHARLIE DANIELS is on board with this religion stuff, I may have to rethink my life! I think starting tomorrow, I will turn my life over to a mythic dying god-man!"

I think your "information" makes people only believe even less in the rapture.

But however thank you for constantly reminding me how terribly stupid some religious woo-woos are.

I think you are just imagining this.

Could you please explain which Atheists are suppressing exactly what?

Making up information tends to constitute a weak arguement.

All the atheists I know would never try to suppress any information about any kind of prophecy.

No. The reason less people believe is because most believers are the perfect advertisement for non-belief.

Taken a look in the mirror, lately?

This thread has been reported to me, and so I have read it.

I do not find that billifan is spaming, as he simply posts a link here. It is not too creative to just post a link without comment, but I don't think that's spam.

I do remind him that atheism and skepticism are not the same thing.

Hal, it's not just that he's posting links. It's that he continues to post link after link after link, all about the same thing. He insults other members of the Forum, and he continues to bleat on about how the rest of us are headed for Hell.

At some point, it gets old. It's funny for a few minutes, but after the seventh or eighth link to another site about the Rapture, it becomes tiresome. Add to that the hit and run tactics, the whining about how people don't get it, and the self-righteousness, and it starts to remind people of Franko or Jedi Knight.

Hey Billiefan-

You should warn your buddy Carlie Daniels that he is going to be devoured by Cthulhu.

They are both under the control of Tezcatlipoca. When Quetzalcoatl returns, He will deal with them soon enough.

I agree with Hal.

Billiefan doesn't hijack other people's threads.

So, as pointless and annoying and useless as Billiefan is, it is the kind of pointless annoying uselesness that is tolerable. It doesn't threaten the board. You don't even have to have Billiefan on ignore: just don't open the threads he starts.

This is the kind of freedom we can support here: the free excersize of rights that does not diminish the free excersize of other's rights.

Although I admit a certain pique when I see half-a-dozen threads by BF at the top of the list.

so "less people believe". My Christian friends contend that having the MOST people you can believe isn't the point. That indeed only a very small number of people can be saved and thus the Lord only has a few people chosen to believe. My good Christian friend often points out that she is friends with me despite my agnostic beliefs, because only the Lord can save someone, and "It just isn't your time yet, only the Lord can decide". So, only God, not Charlie....

From BFan's link:

"Someday soon, those that think the Bible is a fairy tale will have a rude awakening."

The term "soon" means at least 2,000 years.

OK, it's one thing to say the atheists control the content of the media, but how exactly are atheists responsible for what is said in churches?

but how exactly are atheists responsible for what is said in churches? Not to speak for billie, but my guess is that he'll argue that it's the PC thought police. Because, ya know, it's a evil trait of atheism to want everyone to get along and be nice to one another.

Although, it still wouldn't explain how they would manage to do it. But Christians not believing in prophesy is evil, so obviously it must be atheists fault.

billiefan2000, I think that you seriously over-estimate the impact of aethists on communication. Today, we have better communication technology than at any point in human history and aethists will not be able to supress the dissemenation of religious ideas.

I agree. With Jack, I spoke to God one evening....unfortunately all God wanted to do was 'meow" at me. But let me tell you - I felt the glory of the moment.

(From the link)
Perhaps folks choose to be ignorant of what the Bible reveals because if they knew, they would have to be accountable for their actions.

You know, it's funny. I actually read that Bible book, and an AWFUL LOT of the born-again morons who have waved that same book in my face haven't bothered to read all of it for themselves.

Among the most fun versions of this is certain airheads who claim that only by reading *certain* paragraphs, sentences and chapters (out of their context) can you derive the "real" meaning of the book.

Others are actually "wowed" by Bible Codes (http://www.thebiblecodes.com/), which just turn biblical gibberish into even more "mystical" computer-generated gibberish filtered through a spell-checker.

I looked at the link and saw the first line put an apostrophe in Daniels. I got so angry with this rudeness that I refused to read any more. If someone can’t be bothered to get a name right they do not deserve our attention.
