Not sure where to put this on the forum but I felt it should go somewhere. God surely comes under 'paranormal'. More of an announcement really and only of practical use to those living in the UK.

It's another online petition from 10 Downing Street. It took me a few goes because the site was 'very busy' but surely worth the effort.

http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/faithschools/

"We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to Abolish all faith schools and prohibit the teaching of creationism and other religious mythology in all UK schools.

Submitted by Nicola Holt – Deadline to sign up by: 15 November 2007"

Perhaps George Dubya will follow suit.

Whoops, perhaps it should have gone under 'Religion and Philosophy' or even 'Education'. Mods please feel free to move where appropriate.

It's already been posted in the Education forum here (http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?t=74775&highlight=petition). In that thread, I suggest the wording of a possible email to go with the link, lifted from the email that got sent around for the road-pricing petition.

Love that picture, fantastic episode of the prisoner that was, great dialogue, given it was I believe the one that focused on elections and democracy that makes it even more appropriate.

Although possibly "The General" would be even better.

Number 2: "A brilliant course, brilliantly taught by the finest of teachers, directly sent and indelibly imprinted on the students brain. And what do you get?"

Number 6: "A row of cabbages"

Number 2: "Yes... Eductated Cabbages!"

All that petition will accomplish is restock the armories of the "There's a war on Christianity!" crowd.

Well done.
