I, as a student, bought a crappy pair of headphones - only problem is, my ipod keeps thinking that they're popped out so it keeps auto-pausing it, when really, they haven't popped out. Does anyone know of a program I could download to overwrite the iPod auto-pause function?
Thank you, James.

Have you verified that it's the crappy headphones by using another pair of headphones? Do you notice a fuzzy crackling sound in the headphones immediately preceding, or coinciding with, the auto-pause?
BTW: There's no chance you'll be able to add software to the iPod, or modify its existing software. It's a black-box that you're not allowed to open, as far as Apple is concerned.

You can actual put Linux on your iPod, info here. (http://www.ipodlinux.org/Main_Page) I would look at getting less crappy headphones though.

I moved it into my jumper pocket and its happening less. Its not a huge problem , i'd just rather not have it =)
Cheers anyway.
