I haven't seen this mentioned in CT circles, so I thought I'd give the tinfoil brigade a helping hand. This story is paranoia on a platter for them. It involves:
A man of Mideastern descent named Abdul Tawala Ibn Ali Alishtari
Who's been a substantial contributor to Republican causes
Who's been named by Republican leaders to various business and political councils
Who was named to the "White House Business Advisory Committee" in 2003
Who's had businesses in the U.S. and abroad that are security-related
Who has demonstrated a product for the U.S. Army and who has sought U.S. government contracts
And who is now under indictment for attempting to help finance terrorist training in Afghanistan! More here. (http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/012526.php)
If the conspiracists don't run with this, I will lose all respect for them.
