(Note: in the real world, Australia has almost the same amount of land mass as the United States. Most of it is desert though; something like 80% of the population lives within a few miles of the coast.)

Sydney, 800 miles S. of Nova Scotia
— After what witnesses described as an all night blinder during which it kept droning on about how it was always being bloody ignored by the whole bloody world and would bloody well stand to do something about it, Australia this morning woke up to find itself in the middle of the North Atlantic.

Awesome! From the looks of the new map, it seems they could build a bridge from New York to Morocco via Australia. That would be great for reducing shipping costs.

It'll suck for the navies of course.

And you have to wonder... how'd they get it over? By air, land, water, teleportation? I didn't know that the passage south of S America was wide enough to fit an Australia-sized object. Do they even have enough oil to power that big of a shipping load?

Well it was a bit of a problem, and they weren't too careful, what with being snockered.

Officials on both sides of the Atlantic conceded that would be difficult. "They broke Florida," said U.S. State Department spokesman Richard Boucher. "And most of Latin America is missing."

I see Cuba was able to leap to safety though.
