ALMATY (Reuters) - A distraught Kazakh mother kept her daughter's mummified corpse in her apartment for three years hoping she would be resurrected by aliens, police said on Thursday.

Police spokeswoman Nina Tsys told Reuters by telephone from the town of Pavlodar in northern Kazakhstan that Olga, 27, was believed to have died from an autoimmune disorder after her mother failed -- or declined -- to call for medical help.
...
Tsys said the mother appeared to have been influenced by a sect preaching "cosmology" that promised resurrection of her child with the help of a "third cosmic eye" or by aliens.
This is slightly unusual.

"...that promised resurrection of her child with the help of a 'third cosmic eye.'"

I feel like such a heel - I completely missed out on the first two Cosmic Eyes. Can someone catch me up?

someone had better tell Stephen Hawking. his version of cosmology has no cosmic eyes at all.

Did she put Nike shoes on the body and cover it with a cloth?

Ha! This just proves the age old theory that, for some reason, aliens just don't like to resurrect people from northern Kazakhstan. Now southern Kazakhstan on the other hand...

Unusual. I think NOT. This sort of thing happens all the time... in fact I had a good friend who was ressurrect 3 times by aliens (he kept falling out of trees) and he's as happy as a lark...
