I like to check out the local goings on in my hometown, and the local paper has a 1 page web site with about 4 or 5 items. This one from today stuck me as typical: http://www.thedailyobserver.ca/webapp/sitepages/content.asp?contentid=461985&catname=Around+the+Area&classif=

First you have a young woman ripping off nuns (or nuns-to-be). Secondly, you have another relatively young woman (31), taking exception to some youth giving her the finger.

It's nice to see the local in-breds are being kept busy ....

Wow! So that's what passes for news in your neck of the woods, eh Charlie? Don't these people KNOW that the results of Anna Nicole Smith's autopsy are out? ;)

The local talk is mostly about the baby Limburgh kidnapping case ....

Well, take heart, Charlie - if you stay there long enough you could become weird enough to have your own MTV show and marry Drew Barrymore. ;)

This (http://icdumfries.icnetwork.co.uk/gallowaynews/) is our local newspaper's web site. It's a pity they don't carry pictures - last week's paper had some terrific photos of the local ploughing competition.

Jeez! I'm impressed at what was considered a "despicable" offense. Maybe I should consider moving to Charlietown or to visit you in Scotland. :)

How do they feel about illegal immigrants where you live? ;)
