I don't have time to post much now, as I'm on the road. But, was in NYC yesterday and got a new SLR digital camera. I was home earlier today, but now on my way to Pittsburgh.

Passing through Somerset County, around Shanksville, I took extra notice of the cell towers located on top of ridges. One was at Bald Knob Summit, which is nearly 3000 ft above sea level, and not more than 10 miles from the Flight 93 crash site. This is the way cell towers are positioned throughout the county, as well as Westmoreland County (adjacent).

I'll be posting more pictures here, but uploaded a few:

And the two cell phone calls that worked, took place when the aircraft was only around 5000 feet above sea level. There really is no surprise that they worked. Only some HCCT's doubt these.
