View Full Version : Sylvia Browne Trance

I remember listening to a trance of Sylvia's years ago, when Francine was supposedly speaking through Syl's body, and, oddly, Francine was talking about some metaphysical nonsense when--to my surprise--Francine began talking about an incense that reminded her of her grandmother Ada, and of being young. (She said, ...reminds me of my dear grandmother Ada...)
:jaw-dropp
You see, during trance, Francine refers to "Sylvia" as a third person because, allegedly, Sylvia is not in her body at the time of the trance, and has no recollection of the goings on. So this was a major screw up.
Nobody caught it at the time--maybe from the sheer excitement of listening to Francine drone on about nothing for an hour--but after listening to the tape later (much later), I heard the flub up: Francine used the first-person tense to describe her own grandmother Ada, when, in fact, Sylvia's grandmother's name is Ada.
"Francine" quickly moved on and changed subjects.
Who knows how many other revealing performance mistakes there have been during trances, but this one was certainly damning--No, in fact Sylvia never went into trance; she forgot, for a moment, that she was supposed to be Francine and referred to her own experiences in first-person.
Amazing that no one caught this at the time.

I honestly didn't know Syliva claimed the ability to channel spirits.

She only claims to channel her spirit guide, Francine, in trance. If others were to come through, such as past family members of those she is giving a reading to, or those who spend $1000 for the Spiritual Salon to hear the trance, then there is too much probability of getting information wrong.
In her book, Adventures of a Psychic, she talks about the first time her "spirit guide" took over her body, and the pact they made since that time that she would only do it when SB allowed.
There is an article on www.stopsylviabrowne.com that talks about the wrong information, and the hilarity of the setting, as observed by a person who attended and paid for the privelage of asking "Francine" a question.

Speaking off channeling spirits I once channeled a litre of pernod down my neck. I thought I could see the famous white light but it turned out to be the toilet bowl

True. She used to trance in Raheim, as is evidenced by the journey books, and I've heard some of those tapes, but I don't know why she stopped.
I remember a legendary story (at least around the office) about Raheim coming in to her body and hating her long nails--and ripping them off. When Sylvia came to, she was furious and in a great deal of pain.
(Yeah, right).
I've also been told Raheim used to smoke a pipe during trance, which is so unlike Sylvia because--as Sylvia claims in one of her books--she doesn't smoke. Yet she is a chain smoker.
It's all parlor tricks.

Watching the transformation from Sylvia into Francine and then the subsequent trance reading she gives as her just may be worth that $1000. ;)

Yep, forgot about the Raheim trances.
Save the $1000 for the legal defense fund.
Ask any maid that has cleaned the room after SB leaves, and they'll tell you if she smokes or not (maybe she doesn't inhale). Good thing HayHouse is picking up the tab.

RSL, I don't know if I have that tape; it wasn't mine, but a friend's. I'm not sure I can dig it up, but maybe I can get my hands on some other trance performance failure.
