Check the cost to LAX :)
It might be cheaper for you, and then you can fly to Vegas from LA.

Ouch! I am hoping there will be a fare war prior to TAM, then.
Also, wasn't there a thought of an assistance fund for people who are coming from far away? Or am I just hallucinating again?

My sister-in-law is in San Diego, so we'll probably make a week out of it.
I'm secretly hoping that there are some more guests to be announced that will make the decision easier :)

Our local airliner LAN Chile usually opens a "sale" period for Santiago-Miami tickets. Hopefully I can get a low price round trip ticket to Miami for less than $400, which I can afford. But I'd have to wait till the last minute, a kind of risky business

Patricio, you might try www.orbitz.com or www.travelocity.com as well. It may not be cheaper, but having more options sometimes helps.

JetBlue has very cheap flights to vegas, even though it's only from a few locations. I've always been very pleased with their service, timeliness, and the cool TVs in each seat.
And no, I don't work for them. :)
