View Full Version : Mass Spoon Bending - Video

There was an attempt, using the SAME POWERS as Uri Geller, at a world record mass spoon bending.

Will they do it or is it only Geller who has these amazing powers from the heavens? Will Geller try to have this video removed from the web?

And I throw down the challenge to all of you at your next skeptics meetings to outdo this effort!

The video can be seen at: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/509263/

(Here is a still from the video. I was having so much fun behind the camera, I forgot to get in the picture!)

Truly an amazing feat, Richard, by an amazing bunch of benders.

When's the tour?

Weren't the pub owners a little put out over all the broken spoons? Maybe a sign is in order "No more than 3 psychics allowed on the premises at one time." Or did they just decide to stop serving soup?

Nitpicks because I'm feeling nitpickety:

1. The text intro says "at the some time" instead of "at the same time."

2. The spoons don't bend; they break.

Way cool, though.

Did you call Guinness for a judge and possible entry into the book?

NO.. I cannot stand it. I did it late at night and was very careful, but that error I missed. I'm taking it down and putting up a corrected one.

It's removed. I wonder if Uri Geller had anything to do with the removal.

Now that would be funny. No, it was me and a new one with the typo removed is going up. Sorry about that chief...

http://www.metacafe.com/watch/510096/mass_spoon_bending/ Now I want royalties. I think a title as "Creative Consultant" would be appropriate.

Richard,

As fine a video as you provided and as silly a bebuttal video you provided, I can not in good conscious not give you the same advise I have given other people on this site...Female nudity. Come on, the young women in your video may very well of been hiding something in their clothes. How could we know for sure? The young woman at 1:10 looked particularly suspicious  I know suspicious when I see it. I am after all, a skeptic ;)

Ah yes, her name is Sandy and she can be seen here as well:

http://www.metacafe.com/watch/465565/

New to the skeptics, she is learning fast and loves finding out about cold reading. But all the women we get at the skeptics in the pub are a cut above the rest and all are learning about cold reading by reading Ian Rowland's book.

Now.... I have to tell you that all the women in this video are in fact naked under their clothes.

Burger, chips and beer.

Skeptics aren't afraid of clogged arteries, mmmm?

But, then again...you sure couldn't eat the soup of the day, could you? Not a spoon left in the place... ;)

You can tell Sandy her spoon bending prowess is admired far and wide, as far as CT. USA and where ever those rascals that replied to the video on yuotube are from.

That's funny, but not to some of my friends. You bend a couple of their silverware spoons at a party and it's no more soup for you. They are the soup nazis. They don't realize the souvenir value my broken spoons should have for them.

I was there and I thoroughly enjoyed learning the secrets of spoon bending.

That's me in the back row wearing the "Madman" Tshirt standing behind Sandy. Are you jealous?

If you think I'll post a crude "bend your spoon" joke you are mistaken. I'm above that sort of thing. I will say I am jealous that such a fun event occured that I wasn't at :)
