There is a Denver Skeptics group run by Elaine on Meetup.com. We are having a gathering here in Colorado Springs at my home on May 20th, if you'd like to come. I may, in the mean time, set up a meetup.com Springs group.

the link is hereto the event :http://skeptics.meetup.com/131/calendar/5649553/

When: Sunday, May 20, 2007, 1:00 PM Where: (Bidlack's House) Description: Come to my home and by big back yard for a cook out. We'll supply the burgers and hot dogs/buns/condiments, and non-alcoholic beverages. Please bring sides, chips, desserts, other nifty items, small gifts for the organizers, you know, the usual. Please 'sign up' in the thread as to what you will bring.

We are limited to about 40 folks, and there will be some from Colorado Springs as well, so please do RSVP. When you do let us know you are coming, we will send you the actual address and directions. The house is roughly 60 miles from the DTC area, fairly easy to get to off I-25.
More details to follow, if you have questions, please ask Elaine or Hal, or post in the thread about the event.
See you in the Springs! (note: tour of Focus on the Family not included in this event)
Parking is limited, so we encourage carpooling to avoid longer walks.
RSVP limit: Only 40 members (including guests) can RSVP 'Yes' or 'Maybe' for this event. There's still room for 30 more.

boulder is weird. really weird. its almost completely made up of yuppies, hippies, homeless people, and college students (who are mostly hippies). its not cold all year either, the weather changes about every 5 minutes in colorado.

I'm in for the 20th, but I do have to talk to the Mrs. about it.

Hey BA, I live just a bit north of Boulder (in Longmont) If you want to carpool. I'd be happy to drive since my Prius gets great gas mileage.

This is all assuming, of course, that there is still room at Hal's house and that he wouldn't mind me and Mrs. TJ showing up...

ETA: I talked to Kim, so it looks like we're in! WooHoo!

It's my very favorite place to escape reality for a weekend.

For all the reasons you cite.

Plus a bunch of friends.

(And now, new skeptical ones I didn't know about before.)

The Bidlack barbecue was epic, all the more so since you missed it.;)

http://skeptics.meetup.com/131/ is the Denver area skeptics meetup group. I warn you; we are lunatic deviants who enjoy supergluing people where they stand.

I just started a Colorado Springs Skeptics Group over on Meetup.com, and I see here that Hal was thinking of doing the same thing.

So yes, there are even more Colorado Skeptics.

Hey everyone -

The Colorado Springs Skeptics will be having our first meeting on Saturday the 28th at 3 pm. You can read all about it (and join our group) on meetup.com - just do a search for "skeptics" for Colorado and there we are! I'd post the link but I guess I am prohibited from doing that until I get up to 7 posts here on the forum.

We are on the extreme north end of Colorado Springs (near Monument), so there is no excuse for anyone in Denver or Castle Rock not to attend...
