That is my prediction. Want proof? http://biz.yahoo.com/rb/030805/leisure_britain_krispykreme_2.html

Oh, you probably don't think donuts are a big deal and certainly not enough to change hardened attitudes. You know what? You're wrong. I look forward to all the world living in peace and harmony as Krispy Kreme blankets the earth in sweet goodness. Yup, their that good. Least I think so. Excuse me, I have to run. The light just went on. You'll find out what that means not soon enough. Enjoy.

Have you HAD a KrispyKreme?

If you did, you would understand. It's like heroin, and sodium pentathol all rolled into one. You WILL loves us.

I see them loving Krispy Kreme, I don't see how the love transfers over to USA. When I think Krispy Kreme I don't think USA and wise-versa.

Better! It's like heroin, and sodium pentathol all rolled into one without the ruined veins and puss filled abscesses. Not that that would keep me from eating them but it is an advantage.

When I think Krispy Kreme I don't think USA and wise-versa.

Oh Yeah? Well, well...when I think California I don't think USA either. So there.

I know where you're coming from Jon. It's OK. You will learn the truth soon enough.

Dunkin' Donuts? They don't even advertise their donuts anymore. Everything's about how good their coffee is. They KNOW they're beaten.

Quite frankly I never have understood the fuss about Krispy Kreme. I have pretty much found them to be neither better nor worse than any other doughnut.

KrispyKream does make the best regular old glazed doughnut. I also like their apple filled.

Duncan's boston cream beats KrispyKream's hands down IMHO.

It may not be enough to change your veiw of international politics, but you may gain a pound or two because of KK. (Although it may cause one to hate the culture of the USA because of the extra pounds, rather than love us.)

I never understood the attraction either. But compared to the traditional English Breakfast, it is an improvement.

The results are predictable. Half the Brits will love it. The other half will whine and eat them anyway.

In Melbourne, Australia, we have a large range of continental cakes and other delights, not to mention donut shops and the usual rabble of foil wrapped bars. Crispy Creme will die without a trace, much the same as Hershey Bars did. Starbucks is doing alright, though.

Let's face it, Krispy Kreme donuts, Oreos, and Herschey's chocolate are all just plots to decimate the populations of other nations by encouraging them to consume in excess of the LD50 dose of sugar.

I had never even heard of Krispy Kreme doughnuts until a couple years ago when I was interning in New Mexico. My friends there were flabbergasted that I was so ignorant. I think there was even a Krispy Kreme in Albuquerque... but I never made it there.

Guess that no Krispy Kreme is the price I pay for living in Montana.

I don't eat doughnuts more than once every 3-4 months... but oh do I love'em.

Well, that's the sodium pentathol part. After you've eaten four of the glazed doughnuts (are there any other kind?) and are sitting in your chair unable to move, in a blissful state of sugary digestion, we send three CIA guys over to chant pro-USA slogans in your ear.

PS anything with multiple initial Ks in the name tends to make me very uneasy.

As compared to the lard-fried fish and chips you can buy in the pub under the Castle in Nottingham? (The ale is pretty good, though. Shame the tunnels were closed that night.)

I think NOT. :p

You know, here in Canada, Tim Horton's Donuts rules the landscape. (There are more sightings of Tim Horton's donut stores than there are elvis sightings in Vegas.) Kriskpy Kreme? Bah.... wouldn't have a chance against such a national institution.

Then, something happened... Tim Horton's changed the way they make donuts. They changed to a baked recipe. Now stuff there tastes doughier, and always a little stale (even if they were recently made). Now, Tim Horton's has a lot of other stuff going for it besides donuts (coffee, sandwiches); however, I almost never go there anymore because the donuts are so disappointing.

I await Krispy Kreme here, if for no other reason than it may encourage Tim Horton's to fix their problems.

Sorry, but we are going to disagree here.

Stayed at a few B&B places. At the end of a week I was ready for a steady diet of Rice Krispies.

To much meat in the morning. Often long strips of bacon with the “Canadian” bacon attached. Not just one piece either. The other alternative was some sort of unidentified sausage that looked like it had been boiled. I need no caffeine, so tea is unneeded. Cream is just a load of fat. Scones, toast and eggs? They are OK.

Mostly I found the English breakfast to be heavy and a bit greasy. Donuts sure are not health food, but one goes a long way.

Must be my Gael blood or something then.

I found the breakfast sufficient to last me until about 7 or 8pm when I'd find a dinner.

Just kept a few "boxes" of water and McVities Milk Chocolate Digestives in the car for between-meal snacks. :p

I can't be bothered quoting so I'm just gonna say my piece.

Doughnuts.
We already got 'em.
'There's nowt better than a cup 'o tea an't doughnut by't seaside'
I love doughnuts, plain old NORMAL doughnuts with sugar on't top.
I think the old KK will be like Mcd's, all the promise, none of the taste. BK kicks ass!!

Pizza delivery.
No such thing. I ain't never seen a pizza delivery boy on a moped in my set of caves!!! Yank ****wits!!!

English Breakfast.
Man! It's the busssssinessssssss!! Start your day with;
3 rashers of Dutch, rindless, back bacon, 2 fried eggs, 4 Lincolnshire sausages, half a tin of peeled plum toms, a smattering of mushroms, a couple of kidneys and two rounds of toast and a LARGE mug of of the old 'Pyramids' and bob is your mothers brother!

That's it said. No more to discuss!!!
Donuts. pah!

It would be worth going over there just to watch people eat their first warm KK.

The skepticism as they lift it to their lips...

The shock as the texture and flavor are recognized...

The joy as they gobble down the rest...

The lust with which they immediately buy a dozen more...

In the sweets-crazed UK, I'd have to guess these will go over like icewater in the middle of the desert!
