View Full Version : Final Cut announcement?

Looks like the big announcement for Final Cut will be here soon.
Dylan at LC:
There will be a press release and video from the three of us, to our fans, out in a few days. We just have to sort some things out.
Please don't interrogate me, as I refuse to capitulate this time.
Trust me. It'll be all smiles.

No, of course, you are right... I dictioned what it meant and it all makes sense
film
1. a thin layer or coating: a film of grease on a plate.
2. a thin sheet of any material: a film of ice.
3. a thin skin or membrane.
4. a delicate web of filaments or fine threads.
5. a thin haze, blur, or mist.
Defines Avery perfectly. My bad!

This is a great example of subtle equivocation. Regnad Kcin's post was clearly question Dylan's choice of the phrase "our fans"; I presume both from a "Dylan has fans?" point and also from the angle I presented. TraitorBasher proceeds to turn the discussion into a debate of semantics of whether or not someone who puts together a video of simple graphics and sampled material is a "film maker" or not.
Whether he is viewed by anyone as a "film maker" or not is utterly irrelevant to the point being made; that his use of "our fans" is incredibly telling of his mindset.

Maybe, but I can't imagine that someone who takes uncovering the "truth" behind 9/11 seriously would address a possible announcement about the upcoming release of his latest "research" to his... "fans".

But why would Cuban want to distribute a new version of the 2nd edition when everyone who's intrested has already seen it for free? How can he make a profit with only a few minor changes and a Charlie Sheen voice-over?

Dylan has a history of hyping things up.
We'll get a video of him and Bermas sitting at a computer "final cutting", with no distinguishable video/audio of the actual movie.
The press release might contain a release date or something.
It certainly won't be anything valuable to anyone except those who are giving the 3 stooges their money for "truth".
I can't see why anyone would have faith in what Dylan says. First we were supposed to have a ground breaking undebunkable second edition, then all our Christmases at once. Neither came.

I'm more cautious here. There seems to be an implicit assumption that there is an intersection between Hollywood and "The Truth". Hollywood will exploit anything to make a buck, the "Truth" can take the hindmost. I can imagine LC:FC being released and Rosie, et. al., being used to exploit ignorance.
It MIGHT well be that there is a buck to be made from LC:FC. If so, it'll appear.

I wish I had one for you, UW. This happened last year at the old LC forums, before the admins began banning all skeptics.
In a nutshell, Dylan started a thread called "Black Boxes Found!!!", and went on to say how he had found pictures of the black boxes at the Smithsonian exhibit. The "truthers" ate it up; it was only the skeptics who asked questions.
After Dylan attempted to defend his find for a few pages in the thread, one of the skeptics (a JREFer I think) just did what Dylan and his cohorts should have done in the first place - ask someone from the Smithsonian. Sure enough, the Smithsonian said that the photos in the exhibit were merely their to show what they black boxes would look like. They weren't the real black boxes from the 9/11 flights.
It just shows how horrible Dylan is as a researcher, how he avoids asking any questions that may spoil his pipe-dream, and how quick he is to announce his 'findings' as truth without any research whatsoever.
In a bit of historical revisionism, Dylan then went back and changed the title of the thread to "Black boxes NOT found", which made the whole ordeal even sillier to anyone who stumbled upon the thread for the first time.
I, and others, have brought up this shining example of Dylan's scooby-doo investigating plenty of times since then. I've looked several times for the original thread, but I doubt that it's still around anymore. I'm sure there are still plenty of folks here who remember it.

Just because you can toot after a plateful of beans doesn't mean you're Le Pétomane. No, but you might still have fans.In the many months since the first "Loose Change", Dylan & Co. have refused to acknowledge the near countless errors in their work. This, despite every effort, both in print and in person, to enlighten them.
Since they are not stupid people one might surmise that they are promoting an agenda, one constructed on lies, never mind it simultaneously seeks to divert attention from those responsible for 9/11. I don't know about you, but I believe that counts as despicable behavior.
Are you comfortable with despicable people giving shout-outs to "fans"?

they admitted (and eventually corrected) the b-52 thing, and in the redub for the recut they pronounced robert macnamaras name right (although i dont think they ever explicitly admitted that error)
but neither of these were major errors, most likely just typos in the voiceover script (b-25 transposed to the better known b-52 and macnamara misspelled mcnamara)
AFAIK these are only errors they have bothered to correct

have they produced a list of known errors they will be fixing?
no? then they havent acknowledged them publicly
and correcting is not always the same as acknowledging, esepcially not with the orwellian means by which things are "corrected" in truth movement (fix it, forget it, hope everyone else forgets it too)
perfect example of this is the pod theory, which they claimed was the strongest evidence in the first edition
2nd edition comes out, no pods, dylan makes a point of saying its not a win for debunkers, but was merely cut for time (which demotes to weakest evidence now)
later, he stated it was the pet theory of jaye whats-his-name who worked with them on the first edition, and he pushed to have it included (IE "i didnt do it")
now he just ignores it entirely, like it never happened, its pretty much relegated to half a step up from the full no-planers

Just because they address different subjects does not mean they acknowledge errors in previous versions. They can always claim they omitted subjects for different reasons. They have had 3 versions, with numerous different claims, and other than the B-52 error, the only thing I can remember them acknowledging, and even vaguely so, was the fact that the cell-phone argument was weak.
BTW, if you want to get Dylan really riled up, mention that this is the 4th version of Loose Change. He seems really sensitive to that fact.

Given LTW's track record, expect errors to be swept under the rug rather than acknowledged. When asked by fellow truthers why such-and-such piece of "evidence" wasn't included, expect Dylan to merely say they decided to focus on the "undebunkable" "evidence". Actually, I think he may have already done this...

Yes, I've heard Dylan acknowledge the blue tarp thing.
What about the whole pod-theory business featured in the original LC but conveniently left out of LC2E? Is ceasing to mention something equivalent to admitting the error?
Also, I've heard they are dropping Karl Schwarz from the final cut. Karl was the guy who proposed that the engine part found at the Pentagon was from an A-3.

Hey Truthers, when someone disagree's with you, they aren't immediatly a "neo-con". I think it is telling about the age of your little minds!
Too funny!
Let's see. I've never smoked crack, never had sex with George Bush, never licked Cheney's back (and can't even begin to fathom how "TraitorBasher" - previously known as "ERichardson," and previous to that having at least a couple of other identities including "Jaguar" and "tonicblue" - imagines that "back licking" is a bad thing); I've never been a neo-con; and Ed only knows what TB/ER/J/tb means by "fudge packing douchbags." In regard to the latter, I can only guess that this is a combination of TB/ER/J/tb's homophobia and poor spelling skills.
And to round out my response to this guy's post at the Loose Change Forum to which you linked, I should add that I've never been a "'tard" (it appears that TraitorBasher/ERichardson/Jaguar/tonicblue has issues with people with disabilities just as he has issues with homosexuality) and I should also add that, unlike many/most troofers, I have a real life (again, something that TraitorBasher/ERichardson/Jaguar/tonicblue appears not to have, given his propensity for posting absolute drivel on multiple forums under multiple personas).
Additionally, this is rather humorous, too: someone on the Loose Change forum suggests that TB/ER/J/tb was banned because of his user name:
only a guess but maybe the name you chose had somethig to do with the problem
I wonder how long it will take before TB/ER/J/tb explains that his user name had nothing to do with it and that he had previously specifically asked to have his ERichardson name changed to TraitorBasher (in a failed effort to try to make an unfounded and ridiculous point, which was - not surprisingly - never made), and that the moderators accommodated his request.

I'll briefly come out of my lurking retirement to hit on this one. Abby and I had been going back and forth in that black box thread trying to rationalize with the truthers why, in all that is good and pure on this earth, would a government professing the loss of the black boxes allow a museum to display them.
It pretty much came down the truthers buying into it because the government is dumb and has made a ton of mistakes. Basically, they were the only ones smart enough to realize what was going on.
That didn't work for me, so I simply emailed a guy at the museum (New York State Museum... not the Smithsonian). Ten minutes later, he replied and cleared the whole issue up.
Ten minutes is all it would've taken. But in the land of Twoof, when leading a flock of believers, ten minutes is enough time for them to wander off and stray. Best to keep them in line by spouting unsubstantiated claims, regardless of how easy they'd be to check.

Their obsession with JREF still continues. Don't they realize that while they're a teenie weenie forum, in the scope of internet forums and websites, the JREF is quite tiny, itself. This alone should tell them that their movement isn't a movement - it's constipation threatening to overcome itself.
QUOTE (thehighwaymanq @ Apr 22 2007, 03:54 AM)
ok from who
Probably from the people like Mark Cuban. TO fine tune it and make sure the JREF's can't say anything negative about it.
But they will find a way.
The JREF is their enemy because that's the scope of their vision. They aren't even remotely close to getting the attention from the big wide world that they crave. We are but a tiny (if noisy) voice.

I'm sure it's not a deep financing or release date, but some fatuous announcement that they've already hinted at, like Sheen doing the narration.
Any other revised bets?

Actually - he doesn't say yes or no on it in the thread starter over there.... so I'm assuming that since it mentioned the whole bunch being in the announcement, it's got to be something about Final Crap.

I've used this little display of Dylan's excellent "research" a few times in the past* and I always forget who the person was who sent the e-mail (as well as the museum apparently!). I'll make it a point to give you credit when I bring up this story again in the future. Kudos to you RB for simply doing what Dylan could (and should) have done if he was seriously looking fro real answers and not playing his little conspiracy games.
(*I'm not trying to beat a dead horse, but with all of the new members who appear - both truthers and others - I think it's important are reminded of the behaviour of one of the better known names in the truth movement.)

I suspect that Cuban has decided to pull out all the stops, and move full steam ahead on this.
I do hope it will be out by June though, to capture the summer season, during the run-up to the sixth anniversary of 9/11.
If done right, I think it could be as big as Star Wars and most certainly bigger than F911.
Bolding mine. A couple of observations.
1. It's good to see that, after all this stuffing around, a simple reassurance from Dylan is all a CTer needs, whilest simultaneously dismissing the hundreds of eye-witnesses who saw a plane hit The Pentagon, the tens of thousands who saw no evidence of CD preparations in WTC1,2 & 7, etc.
2. As big as Star Wars? First of all, no. Second, Star Wars is more factually accurate that Loose Change will ever be.

If the Twoofers read between the lines, they'd see that Dylan has sold them out. If you're a real filmmaker, in control of your product, you announce whatever the hell you want, whenever the hell you want to. Dylan obviously does not have any control. He probably sold LC:FC to Cuban and is just stringing the Twoofers on as long as he can. He knows that when the sellout becomes public, he's going to have to go into hiding to escape the wrath of his "fans".

I find that to be true. Generally judging from his body language, he is lacking determination right now from what I see. He just has his fan club, and he's afraid of losing them, so he'll string them along as long as possible to milk the cash cow and sell his wares. Once LCFC comes out, if ever, he will be demolished and thought of as Bart Sibrel or other subpar directors. He will drift away and never be heard of again, even in history.

I think this affiliation with Cuban is the answer to Dylan's prayers. If LC:FC is well received, Dylan can take credit. If, much more probably, it is set upon by debunkers like a lamb amid a pack of starving wolves, he can blame Cuban for watering down the content. Either way, I think he's done with filmmaking. An excellent analogy!
I don't think Dylan trying to turn into a weasel (to weasel out of his promises to the twoofers and errors in his films) is going to help in the stampede. He's still going to end up sad, failed, and alone (although maybe not in a padded room like a lot of twoofers ;)) unless he ditches the inside job angle.
I've said before, his next move should be an outsider's look at the truth movement, not telling the story with the conviction of a twoofer.

This topic is being discussed in two threads. See LC:FC in PREproduction for over 1 year?! (http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?t=73036&page=5)
If the skeptics cannot even organise themselves discussing CT what hope have they of actually carrying out a CT :D?
Edit Dog Town got it right about the date. It should be 119 not 911. You Yanks cannot get much right.
Beyond being right out of your minds, that is.And driving on the right side of the road...you drive on the wrong side :)

9/11 is my one allowance for the American date system, because:
a) The date will now be long remembered for a tragedy that occurred in the USA; and
b) Seeing as the emergency number in the USA is 9-1-1, it seems morbidly appropriate.
But by golly when I talk about the Bali Bombings, it's the 12/10 that it occurred on and ain't nobody gonna tell me different.

Not to forget that B is a perfect visual teaching aid to learn the number for 911 :)

Weren't the 7/7 bombings an easier date?

And yet I somehow don't think that 'convenient dating methods' entered the minds of the terrorists...

Only an American would want a sink full of mayonnaise. The Brits would opt for brown sauce or malt vinegar, you.... you... You Colonial!
(Are we going to have to have this thread moved to Humor? Wait, ... I forgot, this one's actually funny and the one enduring theme in the Humor thread is that it mostly isn't!)

Assume nothing, for all you do then is make an ASS out of U and ME both :D
In fact I seriously doubt that LC:FC will see anything like a global release. Some countries have much stricter libel laws than the US

UK DAVE's probably heard it but for the Americans.
Q: What do the English call the Fourth of July?
A: British Thanksgiving

I found it interesting that the trailer for the final cut has a brief clip of the South side of WTC 7 smoking profusely.

Back in the beginning of September I emailed Mr. Avery to see if he could answer some questions for me. First I asked him how he explains the photographs of airplane parts at the Pentagon if a plane never hit it. He told me to "check out the Final Cut". So we can possibly look forward to an "explanation" of that in this edition. Then we went back and forth on the subject of controlled demolition of WTC 1 and 2. Finally I asked him if he knew what is done to prepare a building for demolition. Silly me, I thought it was a reasonable enough question for a man who has worked on a documentary which contends, among other things, that WTC 1 and 2 were brought down in a controlled demolition. His exact response was "No, I do not, I'm not a demolition expert." My exact response to him was "You don't have to be a demolition expert to find out what is done to prep a building for demolition. I'm not an expert at all either but I found out. All it takes is a bit of elementary research." His response to that was "Aren't we getting into semantics here?"

You're a lucky guy - I never got any reply to my emails to Dylan
or Gravy (Mark Roberts)...
But since Dylan stated that the final Cut will "hold all water", I
eager to see the final cut - as much as the Debunkers do, I guess. :)

It does not say where it will be available. Not in theatres or it will say so. Maybe on DVD.
Good luck on being able to find one in a shop.

..."In order to access the normal "big movie" distribution channels, we would have to relinquish editorial control of the film. This just wasn't an option for us, as the integrity of our message is ultimately all that we have, and we feared that "the machine" would corrupt or squash our film and its movement."
Integrity? Surely, you jest... you're just afraid to admit that once real film people get ahold of your project and take out all the falsivities (I dun maded up a new word, y'all) you'd have a 62 second film that starts out with credits, shows planes hit the towers, roll the end credits, thank you for coming.
