I liked his point near the end about the wording of the poll, and about being an atheist and yet still listening to gospel music and Bach. Do people who say they won't vote for an atheist presidential candidate hold the belief that atheists must be out to undermine and destroy all religious belief? Sadly, I've seen evidence that many do think that way.

That many think which way? That atheists are out to undermine and destroy religious belief or that religious folks think that's the case: because I think there's some validity to both trains of thought.
