Somebody on SLC blog posted a link to http://www.zerofilm.it, yet another film purporting to investigate What Really Happened on 9/11, and asking the tough unanswerable questions like "How did one of the WTC buildings collapse all by itself?"
It's not really noteworthy, except for this page:
http://www.zerofilm.it/Diventacoproduttore/tabid/78/en-US/Default.aspx
A film like this treads on many toes…
To guarantee the independence of the film and to succeed in bringing it to the cinema without the support of big production companies, we have decided to open the ownership of the film to the public. Anyone can purchase a piece of this film in the making, thus with their own money helping to bring this story to theatres, and at the same time assuring themselves a share of the film’s earnings.
HOW TO BECOME A CO-PRODUCER AND
CONTRIBUTE TO ZERO – Investigation on 9/11
- Make a donation, using Paypal and your credit card, as shown here;
- Contribute with a minimum of 100 Euros up to a maximum of 499 Euros. You will obtain a percentage of a share (i.e: 100 euros = 20% of a share)
- Become a CO-PRODUCER with 500 Euros
The total value of the film is 500,000 euros. The film has been subdivided into 1.000 shares of 500 euros each. One share corresponds to 0.1% of the total. The co-producers share in the overall earnings of the film in relation to the percentage they purchased.
Contributions amounting to less than 100 euros will be considered donations.
To make donation you can use Pay Pal immediately with your credit card.
To participate to the group of small co-producers or to participate as a co-producer, write to: (email redacted)
YOU WILL RECEIVE THE CO-PRODUCTION CONTRACT TO FORMALIZE YOUR INVESTMENT AND ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION YOU MAY REQUIRE.
The complete banality of the questions being asked (if you go to the site, check the left-side graphic), combined with the blatant profit motive, makes me wonder: is 9/11 conspiracy already so dead that it exists only as an way to make money off of suckers?

So... the name of this alleged show is really Zero Investigation on 9/11?
At least it's truth in advertising...
Somebody over there has quite the sense of humour. :D

Maybe that's why it's called Zero Film. They got the idea from Zero Mostel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zero_Mostel).

Back in the 60's, one guy advertised he had a fool-proof way to avoid the draft. For $x, you got a card that said:

From a stockbroking standpoint is it even legally possible to own a fraction of a share? :confused:

It is if the shares are really 20% of a block of 5 shares ;). And these are really the guys I trust to get the math right.

How were they able to determine the market value of the shares of their film?
:confused:
If that's the case, I'd like to arbitrarily put the value of shares of my model F1 collection at 1500 Euros per share :D

Then why not just divide the film in 5000 shares!?!
Why do they have to make everything unnecessarily complicated??

Bingo! Half a million bucks is an incredibly random figure for the production costs of a documentary. The primary costs will be archive footage, and music, because hey on this kind of profit share job, I'm sure the director principal crew and producer, are all on points!
Its frankly obscene,"deciding" that the documentary will cost 500k and to raise the funds for this random, obscenely expensive pricetag. It's a loathsome piece of vulture esque bone picking, made all the worse that they've advertised for co producers to profit share. The may as well have stuck a sign at ground zero for troofers saying;
"Hey free lunch, costs $500."

Maybe it's just a scam to separate truthers from their money. Someone who knows the target audience and who is playing to their weakness.

It may be a scam to separate people from their money. But these Zerofilm.it people do NOT know their target audience, as this Venn diagram will illustrate:
http://forums.randi.org/imagehosting/11632462d4a5d53f62.gif
These people are nuts if they think anyone in the Twoof crowd is going to send them $500 (or however many Euros it is). The project is based in Europe. Is it possible they've overestimated the U.S. market for Yet Another 9/11 Conspiracy Film? Gee, how could that have happened (cough cough 84 percent cough cough). Anyone with $500 to invest in a 9/11 conspiracy film would have sent it to Dylan Avery by now.
What struck me about this "send money to help me create a movie to support the cause" pitch was how similar it was to other pieces of obvious bunkum, like NESARA (http://www.nesara.us/doverpts06/April_26_2006.htm) or Aaron Russo's From Freedom to Fascism (http://freedomtofascism.com/donations/donations.html). It suggests that 9/11 conspiracy theory has already sunk to the level where it's only a mechanism to vacuum the wallets of conspiracy-minded fools.

The 500,000 is for distribution... not production costs.
I find it laughable that they honestly think they can get a cinema release of their documentary for 500,000... not going to happen.
