I sent the following e-mail to Kevin Ryan:

Dear Mr. Ryan,

Last week I hosted three debates between Jim Fetzer and Mark Roberts. Members of both the rationalist and 9/11 fantasist camps have shown considerable interest in a debate between you and Mark. Are you game?
A poster on the JREF commented that you were pretending on your blog that I "sell" the Popular Mechanics book. Very silly, but you already knew that.

Regards,
Ron Wieck

Uh Ron...pay attention....waterboy is a no good lying [rule8].
He is afraid to debate anybody that has any semblance of brains. I hope he steps up and answers your challenge like a man but I seriously doubt it and I do question his masculinity.

It will be close to a miracle if he ever shows up :)

Is it just me or is it The 911 Conspiracy Theory VS Mark Roberts and Ronald Weick?

haha, this would be awesome, I love these debates.

Well, if they are ever beaten in a 9/11 debate, we could replace them with some other people. But I doubt that day will ever come :D

I love that these guys are always messing up in identifying who wrote what. I mean, shoot, I would think knowing whether Ron did or did not write said book is important. But what do I know? After all I believe in crazy ideas like that you should actually read the NIST-FEMA-9/11 Commision reports BEFORE you attempt to debunk or just casually dismiss them.

Not that I don't really enjoy Mark putting these conspiracists in their place. But wouldn't it be much more embarrassing for them to have a professional in there? Oh- maybe someone from UL?

They had a debate between the boys from LC and Popular Mechanics. It turned out to go something like this:

I'm not calling anyone a liar, I'm calling YOU a liar

Ron;

I just want to thank you again for providing this alternative outlet for putting the Fantasists theories to task. It is wonderful to have this small collection of videos to show people who are looking for the real facts.

Sounds like it would be a good debate, but Kevin Ryan probably won't show.

If he does, then who would be next?! Get Judy Wood and Ace Baker on the show at one time! :)

The following exchange confirms the suspicions about Kevin Ryan:

Mr. Wieck,

Despite your impressive guest list, I'll have to decline. I'm looking to
clarify the issues with those who either have some basic knowledge, or are
at least being taken seriously. I'm sure you can understand.

Hope you keep your humor as time goes on.

Kevin

Dear Mr. Ryan,

Mark Roberts has encyclopedic knowledge of the myths and fallacies
promoted by the 9/11 fantasy movement, particularly the ones associated with
you. Accordingly, your unwillingness to face him in debate was widely
anticipated by members of the rationalist community and is something I
readily understand.

Humor, more specifically, a keen sense of irony, is essential for
you and your colleagues in the snake oil business. I maintain my own spirits
by following the Keystone Kops antics of the leading fantasists as they
attempt, with increasing desperation, to keep their absurd and pernicious
theories afloat.

Ron WieckAre you really surprised. That charltan would never dream of debating anyone that has any type of real scientific knowledge.

Uhh, yeah, because the 9/11 conspiracy theory community is being taken so seriously right now...

C'mon twoofers - you gonna let Fetzer make your case for you?

I say either Stephen Jones, Kevin Ryan or D R Griffin.

Surely one of the three has the balls to face a NYC tour guide....?

Ryan is a puss. He knows damn well that he is a liar and this is EXACTLY the way a liar would respond.

Griffin isn't a scientist he is a theologian. Sort of puts him inside the woo camp. Let Ryan or Jones stand up. Ryan proved his bs with his email to Ron. Jones is the only scientist left..well there is the truther in DC that interviewed Judy Wood. He would be good also but for some reason I can't see him claiming much more than LIHOP.

Ask him why he's changed his mind about want to debate Gravy.

Additionally, I volunteered for the National 9/11 Debate (twice actually) but that didn’t happen either because we couldn’t find enough folks with the courage to defend the official conspiracy theory. I personally invited (Pastor?) Mark Roberts to join us in this debate, but he declined.

You could also ask him why he feels we should put forward someone with relevant qualifications when he himself lacks such things.

I sent Ryan the following message:

Kevin,

A poster on the JREF commented that the original debate challenge was issued by you to Mark. He wrote the following:

Ask him why he's changed his mind about wanting to debate Gravy.

I explained that your challenge was issued BEFORE you had the opportunity to watch Mark in action. I agree wholeheartedly with your decision to preach only to the choir.

Can't say that I am surprised. I doubt it would have been much of a debate, as Ryan is like Fetzer, but with, from what I have seen, less debating skill.

Mark wrote on 911blogger, that Kevin Ryan denied the challenge.

Kevin Ryan responds:

Mr. Wick claims you possess an "encyclopedic knowledge of fallacies" , although he may have been thinking about a phallic knowledge of encycolpedias. It's not clear from his blathering bravado.

And all this after only one year of study!

Don't worry Mark, we'll get around to you one way or another. Read up first though, as it is clear you are wrong about so many things at this point that it will take many hours just to get you to a baseline of knowledge. And remind me again why you were afraid of the National 9/11 Debate. Don't want to scare you off when the time comes.

After Mr. Dunbar is dispatched, I'll look you up.

He still says Wick instead of Wieck. He makes a "funny" comment. He claims Mark is wrong on many things?!? Yet he proves none of Mark's points wrong. He claims Mark was afraid?!?

And he claims he will look up Mark.

That's a cowardly response with outrageous lies.

Kevin Ryan comes across as extremely petulant and juvenile.

If this is the best the 'truthers' can muster, it's going to be a boring year.

Okay I reaaaally don't get it.

Ryan claims he won't debate Mark because he claims Mark doesn't know the facts, isn't educated enough regarding 9/11 and isn't a challenge.

Then why the hell won't he debate Mark?!

Surely if Ryan is soooo confident he would win, he'd have no problems debating him! I really hope the fence sitters can see this. No one declines a debate on the premise that they would beat their opponent. Kevin is a weasel and has clearly declined because he knows he doesn't have what it takes to beat Mark and Ron.

It's not clear from his blathering bravado.'Scuse me, I have to go irony my clothes.

And all this after only one year of study!"Only?" Wow, what a slam.

Don't worry Mark, we'll get around to you one way or another.I'll wager Mark isn't worried in the least.

Read up first though, as it is clear you are wrong about so many things at this point that it will take many hours just to get you to a baseline of knowledge.Name one, Kevin Ryan. One thing Gravy's wrong about. One.

And remind me again why you were afraid of the National 9/11 Debate. Don't want to scare you off when the time comes.Remind us again why you stopped walloping your girlfriend.

After Mr. Dunbar is dispatched, I'll look you up.Snore.

I would say somebody whom he could feel smugly superior to, but we would have to narrow it down a bit; that appears to include just about everybody.

So if he won't debate Gravy....perhaps Kevin would like to name off a few people whom he would debate?Again, I give an extremelt generous challenge to eiher Ryan or Jones. I will gladly debate either of them on the physical chemistry ans physics. Any forum of their choice with a neutral 3rd party as a moderatror so thety or their groupies do not have :"censorship" capabilities over the posts. Are either of them man enough...well is Jiones man enough. We already daw Ryan crying like the little girl he is.
