Are you serious?
I don't think I have read even one "comic" in this thread that was even moderately funny....
They all seem kind of stupid to me....and a waste of time.

I realized that LashL had that same charactor that I put in there to look like Childlike Empress.

She'll probably outsource it to me. I have very reasonable rates.

Ahem. Please do not use my avatar to represent the German guy who calls himself Childlike Empress, nor any other woo peddler, nutcase, tinhatter, loon, etc. I realize that you're (apparently) new here, but for crying out loud, show some decency and respect for those who have been here for a while.
As an aside, I should also tell you that I do not find your cartoons very funny or even interesting. You should seriously consider sticking to your day job (if you have one) and leaving the comics to the master, Horatius.
Horatius, consider yourself hired to demonstrate my ire via the cartoon genre, and send me your invoice via PM. The usual rates, I presume?

My apologies! After all I'm only a "rookie", I mean Wookie.
Find them funny or don't find them funny. This is a public forum LashL, you told me to respect you by not using your avatar. Don't you think I should get the same respect in return?
Horatius, I do respect because he doesn't criticise everyone's work (except for the Twoofers sad attempts). I haven't criticised anyone's cartoons because this is a free and independent forum.
Anyways, I'm gonna continue my series, critics or not! And that's the true heart of a cartoonist!

At least those quoted got me LOL-ing.
BTW,not all cartoons are good for everybody as we differ in sense of humor.
Hm. Could you please make them bit less violent? I think this one makes some posters bit uncomfortable.
Altough it is "free" forum,it is still under JREF and you may be seen as to coming too close to borders of several rules.
As for critics,as you are free to make comics, others are free to criticise. At least it shows, they noticed your attempts. The only one or two I made were ignored... (probably not good)
ETA:Critics are usefully if more precise as they can help you to improve. And this goes to other things as well. Onlyy truthers are attacking always critics and not learning. Don't make same mistake.

The strip with Alex Jones screaming "Don't even think about it" made me laugh, but they quickly got a little out there after that. Keep going, though. Just try and make it a little more about jokes rather than actually attacking truthers.

Do I have a sense of humor?
Oh yes....very much so. In fact I have a somewhat broad sense of humor and I am known (in real life) for my sarcastic, cynical, and somewhat dark sense of humor....I'm also known for telling hilarious stories of various things that have happened to me (many from the military)....so it's not that I don't have a sense of humor.
But I typically like things that are clever, not childish, in their approach....something being offensive doesn't bother me but I find childish humor to just be lame.
I also don't find mockery for the sake of mockery to be very useful...
Thats my two cents....I'll stop posting now and let you guys have your fun and won't rain on your parade anymore.
Have fun.

Just little thing. I never said you had no sense of humor. I just pointed out differencies. Anyway didn't you think about making your own?

I know you didn't say that.
I was just clarifying.
Did I think about making my own comic? Not really no....I don't see the point to be honest....
South Park did a great job of making fun of the truthers....
The video and audio debates (and some internet postings) do enough to discredit them....
Even if I made the funniest comic about them and got the "slap on the back" from fellow JREF members, I just wouldn't see the point.:con2:

...What? Understanding refuses to dawn.
I think it's a kind of transhumanist allegory, something like 2001: A Space Odyssey in four panels. The first two panels introduce two contrasting groups, one consisting of a computer, a lumberjack, and a cat -- clearly representative of the calculating and rational, but self-centered and environmentally destructive, modern civilization -- and the other a pair of happy but somewhat feckless figures representing our emotional intuitive sides, who are rebelling against their diminished and subverted roles (and who can blame them?) by mocking sacred human values including the deity Aldo.
In the third panel, the forces of transformative synthesis (abstracted visually as stars and lightning bolts) manifest themselves, sweeping our protagonists through the next stage of evolution.
The result of the transformation is seen in the dramatic fourth panel, as the newly reborn Laughing But Worried Obese Galactic Schnauzer Child appears in the heavens, ready to guide humanity safely into an unknown but exciting future.
Respectfully,

Not bad. Actually i was trying to illustrate how the SNAFU principle may apply in a hierarchy of AIs - but i've learned in school that art is in the eye of the beholder and directed creation, so i know that an interpretation of it can't be wrong unless it is internally incoherent - so only one objection:
Transhumanist? Are you kittying?

:) My "sick, unfunny" remark was only directed at Chewy - who got better already (and i guess Klimax got it when he said that the violence in Chewy's strips was the big downturner). Your strips show talent and sometimes wit. Reason for me to return here frequently. Hope you got the (only a little bit backhanded) compliment in "Know your place".

Holy crap, you got Swing Dangler down pat. It's kinda creepy.
It's photoshopped with paint. I found the mask from a poster that had the same kind of "cartoony" look to it:

I just cropped, made 3 copies of the mask then ever so slightly put them in place.
It is kind of creepy ain't it? :D

If you sign up for a blog, they have a "my stuff" folder. You can save some of your specially created images, and edit them to improve them. Some people there make really good art that way. There are also a lot of other tools available, for doing special effects like fades and blurs.

Actually, I think he's patiently waited for this "award," referenced at that thread.
Gregory Urich is striving to reach the 500-post mark before revealing that a vast, mathematically-impossible conspiracy brought down the Twin Towers with explosives. He is a strong contender to win the coveted JREF award for Slowest Telegraphed Punch in History.

I think twoofers only dimly realize the nature of humor. Horatio uses it as a saber, confounding his opponent, then deftly reaching in for the touch.
Twoofers try to use it as a bludgeon, not realizing that that technique doesn't work so well on a weapon that requires both an edge and a point.

I can accept the criticism on the not being funny part, but the comic wasn't in any seriousness. I am well aware the events I placed in the comic did not transpire.

I took it as a satirical take off of truthers delusions.
Most of the comics here play that way. Satire, It explains why some people don't get the humor in the comics. If you take it literally you will never get it. If you don't, you can probably see it for what it is.

This. There was nothing in the comic to indicate that it was satire to me. I thought you seriously believed that it happened that way, or at least in a similar manner. However, since I appear to be wrong about that, I will apologize for my assumption.
As to the lack of funny, it needed a punchline at the end. It basically read as a normal bureaucratic conversation; nothing really funny about it. Just needs a little kick though; it's entirely possible to make something like that funny if you choose the right words and setup. Keep at it.

Yeah, far more George Lucas than Patrick McGoohan. Still, although the cartoon is very, very funny, its inspiration is very, very sad.
