Why bad things happen to bad people?
Why good things happen to good people?
Why good things happen to bad people?
Why anything happens to anyone, given that that "thing" is some more-or-less random act?

Gaussian distribution.

As Jesus said (Luke 13:4-5): "Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? I tell you, no!"

Bingo. The qualitative value of both the event and the person is moot.

Nice. We can use other language (dead or not) to hide that we break rule 8. Good things I know 4 languages beside english :):):).

Matt 5:45
".. for He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and the unjust."

The fundies always forget this verse when they claim that bad events are evidence that God is punishing us for removing God from the classroom.

It didn't fall.

It was pushed.

Goddidit to give the Israelites legitimate excuse to massacre the Ammonites, the Belemnites ,the Goniatites and the McSweeneys.

Perhaps good people get out more and tend to enjoy life and take more risks. If one stays home often, chances/odds of an automobile crash or picking up a communicable disease may be reduced. On the other hand................................

Good and bad are somewhat relative terms. If I don't stop and help an old lady across the street am I bad? What if I didn't stop because I was on the way to perform a life-saving surgery?

Of course not. That's not why you're bad. :D

Then you will burn in hell for all eternity.

While we're at it, why do bad people happen to good things?

BillyJoe

Because bad people like to make good things bad.

...but would you believe that, on another thread,
they're trying to ban kitten pics.

Unbelievable!

Hey, that note on the word ban was not my idea.

The Universe has no concept of "good" and "bad". It doesn't make value judgements, so it doesn't care what happens to whom. Every day, you can hear it laughing hysterically at every Bill of Rights ever conceived by that pompous little life form that takes itself so seriously.

It just isn't fair.

The mods must have heard, the note on "ban" has been removed.
